So my old roommate from Clemson has been involved with the Nike Elite 11 and The Open QB competitions for years now. I often reference the prospects I see there and have had some really good access to the camps over the years. It's pretty impressive watching these 16 to 18 year old kids compete and get evaluated at a pretty high level, and then try to project them not only at the college level but as Future NFL prospects.
So NFL Network has finally picked up on this and is airing a documentary on this process. Check it out it's pretty interesting especially if you enjoy evaluating the QB position.

He was really cool, he was a big Yankee fan and we would go to the bar to watch the games and get hammered together. That boy could drink some beer.

My darkhorse is that Florida commit. Also found it interesting that 80% of todays starters attended the camp.....almost mind blowing.

My darkhorse is that Florida commit. Also found it interesting that 80% of todays starters attended the camp.....almost mind blowing. I don't think people realize how many NFL QBs have come through this program. It's probably because these kids are in high school and not even in college yet, so it's over-looked, but it is fun to see all these top prospects on the field together and dealing with situations designed to make them feel uncomfortable. Say what you want about Trent Dilfer as an NFL QB, but he knows the QB position and has a passion for developing these young guys. I think he does a tremendous job with this program and the more exposure it gets, the better. Matth Corral, the Florida commit looked good, I won't play spoiler, just say that he did have a great showing. He was actually a USC commit earlier in the process but McElwain lured him away. My guy Trevor Lawrence certainly looks the part doesn't he? I watched a game of his a couple weeks ago on ESPN and he was near perfect. This kid is built like a man already, I can't wait to see him in camp next year at CU.

Sorry, just saw this. The Liberty on 35th Street is where a lot of Clemson fans go in NYC. The NYC Clemson Club meets there on gamedays.

They did a great job on that Patterson kid, it just makes you want to root for him. The Clemson blockhead is still easily numero uno but I'm still pulling for the UF commit. Should be a great last show.
I've always liked Dilfer in the booth but now I have a new found respect for him.....guy is absolutely terrific with these kids.

I haven't had a chance to check it out. But I'm looking forward to it. My favorite was the 2012 one. Olsen is from my home town... graduated with my son from Hills. went to Miami, and his life spiraled downward after that. Hack, Goff, and other notables...
