So, since you're going along with whatever is being reported, that, what? Makes it ok? Lazy? You establish credibility for your views by the words you choose to express said views. Comfort, laziness, or choice in utilizing the term "anti-police", to me, means you agree with that movement. I make a conscious effort to not use the term because I feel it represents a dangerous mindset, not because it's PC or something. If I'm misinterpreting what you said, please clarify it for me. I admit that your post was a bit confusing. Only confusing because you went looking for something that wasn't there. All I said was that, as somebody sympathetic to some of the positions of the movement--whatever you would like to call it--I still think the whole brunch thing was dumb. A point that we all seem to agree upon. "Anti-police" was there, which is what I addressed. Not sure what you think I went looking for beyond that. Next time I won't admit I was confused by something and ask for clarification I guess.

Which happens to be the exact same phrasing used by media on both sides of the aisle, people affiliated with the NYPD, and so forth. Who knew it would take so much to voice agreement with everybody else...

You didn't ask for clarification. You asserted I did not mean what I said based upon my phrasing. Which happens to be the exact same phrasing used by media on both sides of the aisle, people affiliated with the NYPD, and so forth. Who knew it would take so much to voice agreement with everybody else... If I'm misinterpreting what you said, please clarify it for me. Derp. Words (and phrasing) matter, so I asked for clarification after basing my comments on that phrasing. You've yet to clarify your position. So I will ask again. And as I stated earlier, I make a conscious effort to avoid the phrasing used by the media (or anyone else for that matter) if I feel it is inappropriate. You do not make that distinction based on your use of the phrase "anti-police" and continued defense of it by citing its use by the media, the NYPD(?), and "both sides of the aisle." You referenced it as a movement which has aspects that you agree with. When someone like Lynch uses it, he is referring to the same dangerous mindset that likely got those cops killed. When Anderson Cooper is using it, he's being a lazy (or sensational) journalist. When a politician uses it, they are being politicians. When John Q. uses it, he is expressing a mindset, a viewpoint, via that phrasing. Words matter. Always. Serious question; why are you arguing the point? If you are anti-police on some level, just admit it and take your lumps. If not, say as much and clear the air. But this obfuscation is not helping anyone, and it's making my head hurt. And the only thing you've stated you agree upon is that the brunch thing was stupid. Again, unless I'm missing something?

#BlackBrunchNYC happening now & white fragility is on full display. When confronted with complicity in genocide most whites brains melt 12:23 PM - 4 Jan 2015
I hate when people throw the word genocide around like its nothing. Last I checked no one (white, black or brown) is advocating for, or actually trying to, wipe out an entire race or group of people. The rhetoric makes me sick and takes importance away from real instances of genocide.

And to think the catalyst that started this was people feeling sad because a convenience store robber who tried to grab a cops gun was shot. What a bunch of misguided, idiotic, stupid fucks.

Kat Scratch Fever! Is she even black? is she even a "she"? (looks like DDD answered the question) protesting brunch is like Catholic cartoons: a lot safer than the alternatives for cowards
