The inability of a board to keep politics out of it's main threads is a sign the end is near. The amount of anger, finger pointing, and negativity here is sad. This used to be such a fun place ( for a Jets board).  Im forced to hear about politics every sunday thanks to the players in the NFL. Is it any surprise it bleeds over? |

Put the bat down and take a fn breath. It was not my idea; but probably inspired by Casper the VPOTUS and his BS "christian" ways. And yes; the hypocrisy is in caring for a symbol, instead of the message from many of his (unwanted obv) constituents. Mike Pence is a Dope Above All Others. You can make the black players case "about the flag"...but it is not about the flag. It's about systemic racism; racism that hides behind the label of "fighting political correctness"...the trend is "getting worse". So how is their kneeling doing anything of substance, other than pissing some people off? After the game, these players go home and smoke weed and play Xbox and go to the strip club, and few actually go out and do CONCRETE things to help the communities they've come from, and supposedly care so much about. Trump has "dog whistles" in every one of his talks. Taking a knee was supposed to echo Tommy Lee and Carlos Rogers statement; as Stokes said; in response to Trump and his shenanigans. |

Wait, so after being counseled he allowed the syringes. Isn't this proof that he is a reasonable man? How about go after who/what is responsible for allowing these people to become junkies in the first place? Where the drugs are coming from? Im seeing a man who, despite his personal beliefs, eventually legislated against those beliefs for the good of the people. |

The problem was and is people expecting the government to save them in the first place. Personal responsibility would have saved those people. Trying to solve problems government creates with more government is moronic. I see your point as the constraint that I, as a Civic Leader, especially if I have heavy responsibilities, have to address immediately. It's similar to "looking in the wrong end of the telescope". The choice Pence made was the right one, but delayed. He is not an algorithm guy like you and me - a problem solver - he's a Right/Wrong guy; he worries about the message that's going out; he's deliberating. Taking his time. Like 6-8 weeks here. So I took offense to the grandstanding at the Niner game. ANYWAY - Turns out that personal responsibility was effectively achieved - You want a clean needle? Gimme the dirty one - with the lightest government scaffolding going. Pence didn't devise this solution. Keep that in mind. Thanks Read the article again. It wasn't 6-8 weeks, it was more like 3-4 days, and Pence was proactive by reaching out to law enforcement to see how to fix the issue. The way you spin shit is insane. |
