I have to show ID to buy a can of dip. Why is it absurd to show ID to vote?

After a months-long probe into election irregularities, elections board director Kim Strach said the Republican operative, Leslie McCrae Dowless, hired workers and paid each $150.00 per 50 absentee ballot request forms, and another $125.00 for every 50 absentee ballots collected. There’s evidence that workers directory provided Dowless with ballots from Bladen and Robeson counties in order to get paid, and instructed them to falsely sign as witnesses. [It’s illegal in the state for anyone other than close relative to handle a voter’s absentee ballot.] More than 1,000 ballots from both counties were affected. www.axios.com/north-carolina-election-board-hearing-ballot-scheme-5cfec0ae-2564-462a-a0fb-32e2e8808816.html

[It’s illegal in the state for anyone other than close relative to handle a voter’s absentee ballot.] Thus the problem with absentee ballots and loads of time (weeks and weeks) to round them up and hand them in. The system gets gamed. Btw - noting that as in most states it is illegal for anyone other than a close relative to handle absentee ballots - in California ANYONE can hand in as many absentee ballots as they like, no provenance, affidavit or etc needed.

But people still legally register to vote. You keep ignoring that part. So do you support the policy in California? Because it legalized voting methods that are actually illegal in every other state (for good reasons). Yes, the voters are legally registered to vote but the California voting system openly invites gaming of the system - because that is the way state Dems like it. The new voting policy helped them secure a veto-proof supermajority in Venezuela Sacramento. They promptly decided to floor a bill extending California's version of Medicaid to cover illegal aliens under the age of 19 - at an expected cost of $3 BILLION per year. Gavin Newsome is expected to veto it because it's an insane amount of money - let's see what the Dems decide to do. It's not their money and anyway they can always pay some community organizers to round up those absentee ballots they need to hold onto their seats.

I don’t live in California and that is a state issue. If the law is exploitable you can’t pretend only the Dems would do it.
