If the law is exploitable you can’t pretend only the Dems would do it. Well I am actually curious on your take about the core issue.... Because when you strip away the voting issues, and the Dem/Rep angle - you are left with what I would argue is actually bad law - because rather than enforce rights (for example, voting is not mandatory in California) it undermines and dilutes the value of legitimate voting while inviting gaming of the system. There is a reason why what California allows is an illegal voting practice in 49 other states and virtually every country. The only places you will find cars dropping off bins of ballots now is notoriously corrupt countries -- and California. Which is a bit chicken-or-egg from where I am sitting. There is a long, storied tradition of game-able systems inviting corruption. So, again - I don't live in California either - but I still have an opinion that it is a terrible sort of law to have passed. Do you agree broadly with me - or do you care to defend California's policy instead?

If I remember the law you are referring to it is illegal for PAC’s and the like to collect and deliver absentee ballots. Like a lot of the laws when they are passed they meant well but it was a bad law. How do you determine if a voter who is voting is not casting a legitimate vote?

How do you determine if a voter who is voting is not casting a legitimate vote? You make them show up at the polls with ID:) It seems you're okay with California's voting policy. Do you think it would be a good idea to extend to your state? Or all states?

I don’t know what the other states have on the books for laws. I want people to vote legally. I don't think the California law is defensible in any way, with any grey area. You're obviously comfortable with it and for once I think your equivocation here speaks louder than you'd intend it to.

You have your own interpretation of the law and blindfully make assumptions about what the other 49 state do or do not currently have.

Understanding the law(s) is not about making assumptions.

You have your own interpretation of the law and blindfully make assumptions about what the other 49 state do or do not currently have. "What can I get you sir?"
"I don't know - what's everyone else in the restaurant eating?"Obviously you don't need to know other states laws to have an opinion on the California law. But you prefer to argue instead of making arguments. Here's a (repeat) easy question: Would you like to see California's voting law extend to the state you live in?
