You have your own interpretation of the law and blindfully make assumptions about what the other 49 state do or do not currently have. "What can I get you sir?"
"I don't know - what's everyone else in the restaurant eating?"Obviously you don't need to know other states laws to have an opinion on the California law. But you prefer to argue instead of making arguments. Here's a (repeat) easy question: Would you like to see California's voting law extend to the state you live in? Not to mention that each state's laws have an impact on national elections.

Not to mention that each state's laws have an impact on national elections. This is also an interesting angle because, if people recall, Trump had a popular vote lead until California. Notwithstanding the fact that we are a republic, many lefties point to the fact that the electoral college needs to be "abolished" ("It's outdated!!") based on the popular vote totals. In this particular case, then, California's election laws actually have an acute effect. And let me stop Cheech: it's not the 'fringe' left who thinks the EC should be abolished and will point to Cali-supported popular vote totals in order to do it. Here's a short list of Dem peeps and propagandists whom I know (assumption-free!) have called for doing away with the EC: Hillary Clinton
Bernie Sanders
Dick Durbin "Sen. Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) called the Electoral College “a shameful relic"
Keith Ellison
The ACLU
John Dingell
Barbara Boxer
AOC - of course
Michael Dukakis (!)
Michael Moore
Pete Buttigieg (rumored to be running for POTUS)
A majority of Dem-registered voters support getting rid of the EC. And states like Colorado are trying to do it with an end-run around changing the Constitution (by banding together lefty states to force their states electors to vote for the winner of the national popular vote instead of the actual state's winner) In fact those nice American leftists in Colorado are trying to get the bill passed this week: www.denverpost.com/2019/02/12/colorado-national-popular-vote-bill-electoral-college/So, while California is busy undermining American voting by instituting Castro-approved methods, we also have Democrat states trying to band together to abolish the Electoral College - not by a compelling argument and process to change the US Constitution but, rather, neutralizing the effects of the EC - just like they love to neutralize the effects of laws they do not like on immigration, etc. The Dems are a power-mad 5th column at this point. Reasonable people (except Cheech) can disagree on what the laws should be, but Dems are fervently working to undermine the very process of the country. No one should be under any illusion.

You stated CA is the only state in the union with this type of law. I do not know that to be a fact.

When any of the people you have mentioned put a bill on the floor to get rid of the electoral college I will care about your fears. The electoral college still works and I have no problem with it.

When any of the people you have mentioned put a bill on the floor They just did in Colorado. And Colorado is part of a organization of lefty states that has been trying to do this since Gore lost. It's gaining more steam now. And for goodness sake, you have major Dem presidential candidates banging the drum on this. But whatever, you're all hat and no cattle when it comes to arguing. You deflect, not defend. Which is fine - you can have your opinions and obviously there is no need to justify them to me.

Here - the Colorado bill just passed out of committee: www.fortmorgantimes.com/fort-morgan-local-news/ci_32459221/colorado-general-assembly-national-popular-vote-bill-advances?source=rssColorado General Assembly: National popular vote bill advances House last stop before governor on bill to end electoral college processPOSTED: 02/17/2019 08:31:26 PM MST A House committee last week moved a bill forward that would allow Colorado to join 12 other states in a "National Popular Vote."
The House State, Veterans and Military Affairs approved Senate Bill 42 Tuesday on a party-line 6-3 vote.
The National Popular Vote is an interstate compact that would eventually grant the presidency to the candidate who wins the most popular votes in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Twelve states, with a combined 172 electoral votes, have already joined the compact. It would go into effect when it reaches 270 electoral votes, the amount required for a presidential election win. Eleven states, including Colorado, have or are considering legislation on the issue, according to nationalpopularvote.com.
Rural lawmakers, including Sonnenberg, have warned that such a shift would short-change rural voters in smaller states.
The Colorado Republican Party attempted to gin up opposition to the bill at Tuesday's hearing, which stretched late into the evening. GOP Chair Jeff Hays sent out a call to action on Monday, stating the hearing was the last chance to save Colorado's constitution from the Democrats.
The bill now moves on to the Colorado House for debate and a final vote. If not amended during its trip through the House, the bill would go directly to Gov. Jared Polis, who has said he supports the idea. So you care now Cheech? Of course not. You say you don't support any political party but you sure have a lot of political opinions (and few Jets ones) for someone who doesn't really care. I think it is fair to assume you're somewhere on the hippie-marxist-anarchist continuum.

It is funny how you guys jump all over this stuff but are glossing over the actual voter fraud in North Carolina, gee I guess since it wasn’t the evil Dems it’s doesnt matter

The CA law because people can transport absentee ballots who aren’t related to the voter? That’s the earth shaking revelation? North Carolina doesn’t have that law yet the GOP filled out blank absentee ballots and got caught red handed. Luckily voter fraud doesn’t happen as much as you wish it did.

The electoral college won’t go away states are able to legally do what they want with their electoral votes. See below. The U.S. Constitution (Article II, Section 1) gives states exclusive control over awarding their electoral votes: “Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors....” The winner-take-all method of awarding electoral votes is state law. It is not in the U.S. Constitution.

Never mind Cheech. Now I’m quite certain you’re on the odious hippie-Marxist-anarchist spectrum I won’t expect hard answers like ‘yes’ or ‘no’ because I no longer need them.
Arguing with a hippie is like real life Waiting For Godot, only blander, less cheerful and minus all the action.

I keep saying I'm not going to reply to his nonsense but I just keep taking the bait. And I don't want to slag all hippie-types - I know some genuine, caring ones. But there are 10X who find the 'why-so-uptight-bro??' ethos is the perfect hiding spot for their passive-agressiveness.

Your interpretations are exactly that, I try to look to see what you’re rambling on about and it’s not easy. If that makes me undemocratic in your mind so be it.
