In parallel, I hope Congressman King is doing something to fight our egregiously high State and Local taxes.
But we certainly dont need to be funding the rest of the country.

This bill is a disaster for NYC and the Metro area.
We need reform, but this isn't the answer.

It's not raising taxes, it's capping a deduction.
+1 to Brooklyn Jet. Work on lowering state and local taxes. The salaries and pensions that are given out on LI are out of control.

I live in NJ and that is total bullshit. Why should the rest of the country subsidize our ridiculous leftist high taxes. Federal taxes shouldn't have anything to do with state and local taxes.

Yeah, Pete's language could be a lot clearer... its not raising taxes per se, although the end result amounts to potentially a higher tax bill for some. King, Cuomo, all these guys have been in office for a while. They've had plenty of time to lower our tax burden but never have, in part because of the deduction that was available. Im just mad because we're finally seeing some movement on tax reform, but its us in NY and NJ and other places that are still getting screwed.

Move the fuck away and you will realize how overpriced and overrated the fucking area really is.

He represents everything wrong with the Republican Party. Talks a big game but is in the pocket of labor unions and the up your ass taxes on LI and NY will continue to drive young people away. As Kasper stated... moving is great. I earn a lot more in NC as new business comes here, companies move here and while not perfect, we are not over driven with public pension pressure driving up pensions for those working 35 hours a week.

The problem isnt this bill. The problem is our state taxes. Now we need to fight this battle on the state level and get rid of these leftist drunken sailors.
I wish King and the rest would make that argument to the people. He and others should fight the governors now.

I wish King and the rest would make that argument to the people. He and others should fight the governors now. Pete King has NO interest in that. All public unions will come out against him. My buddy just retired from the Port Authority. 55 years old. I GOT HIM the job in 1986. He barely graduated high school. 30 years and 55, His pension is 70K plus lifetime health insurance. Graduated bottom of the class in HS. ONLY the government can do this. He would earn perhaps 50K in any other similar position. THAT is what drives up taxes. This guy multiplied by 100,000 just like him.
