My first "jazz guitar" lesson was Mr Magic with Tim, on the Jericho Turnpike. That's the story Jerry

You might have been one of the rich kids in my Jazz guitar class, because Steely Dan/Room 335 is all they wanted to play. Stupid LA genius; making it hard for everybody.

Ironic that Room 335 from '78 sounds a little like Steely Dans "Peg" from '77, though in fairness, I dont know which one was written first.

I was neither rich nor a guitar player. I was forced to take classical piano lessons as were all my other 6 siblings. Hated it then, wish I retained some ability now. The only thing I remember how to play wasn’t classical but ragtime - the first few bars of Maple Leaf Rag by Scott Joplin. Although I will say I love the guitar in FM (No Static At All). Yeah, I said it. _

Starting right around the 3:03 mark. Always loved this guitar lick.

Too soon to play a "hit" rather than their better stuff. It's not Ramblin' Man for crissakes.
Great version. Sucks they are no more.

Always thought this was an incredible version of Jimi's classic. Just screaming guitar work. Blue Cheer was miles ahead of its time.

KISS, being from the boroughs, had access to the best amps and techs in NYC. Their tones are as clean as ACDC's.
But they are still media whores and come across as dipshits. Anyway - flashpots forever; long live the Kings of Queens

How many folks even know that his band's name was originally from Leslie's first solo record? Very ahead of its time. Friggin' 1969. "Long Red" is a classic.
