Good. We are working touching distance of Darnold or Rosen, so he has to at least explore the possibility. Worth the price if one of them can be our franchise QB.

I'm not sure what you guys are expecting them to say re Hackenberg. Do you want them to come out and say he blows?

I do not believe he will be there at that time. We need to get to 4 to jump ahead of the Bronco's.

Browns (2 picks); Colts; Giants; Broncos; Jets. All need a QB except the Colts and possibly the Browns stand pat with Kinzer, but I doubt it with 2 picks. Top QB's available are Darnold; Rosen; Mayfield; Allen. I agree with Kasper the Jets better move up and grab Mayfield. In the long run, I'd rather go with Mayfield than pay Cousins a ton of cash and keep the FA money to improve the team behind a young Mayfield at QB. Make it happen Tanny.....ah, er....Mac.

It would be helpful if Lamar decided to come out too and both he and Allen destroys their workouts. Gotta hope someone buys the Allen hype. Hopefully Elway wants a big physical guy to play in that weather and Allen being from Wyoming fits the bill But yeah, we need to move up to at least 4 to insure we get Mayfield. And there is no WAY Cleveland is standing pat with Kizer. The dude sucks. _

What's really depressing is the fact that Cleveland Browned up their trade for McCarron which would have taken them out of the QB sweepstakes.
Their reward for screwing up the trade is their choice of Rosen or Darnold.
While we likely end up on the outside looking in, or paying a hefty price to trade up.
Thanks, Browns. You suck.

I don't think it's out of the question that CLE decides to still get a vet QB. A trade down from #1 would give them an incredible haul in this years draft. With a vet - Cousins, Smith or even AJ - they'd be an instantly competitive team. They also have by far the most cap room IIRC. I don't think Dorsey is simply going to take a QB because they have the first pick. Rosen doesn't want to play there and Darnold is arguably not really ready to start. If they aren't sold on Darnold, they may go vet. No way is CLE choosing Mayfield or Allen as the overall first pick.

I know Dorsey wasn't there for Manziel but it stills seems a bit for a new GM to go bang the table on a better version of Manziel with some of the same "brain trust" that drafted Manziel. Personally I'd be shocked if they stay at #1 and also take Mayfield.

The Giants Dave Gettleman has been in the news and on TV and radio interviews since being hired. And every single time I read and/or hear what he has to say ... every single time ... I see the significant difference between a serious, superior, professional, winning NFL general manager ... and the fucking idiot we have.

Louisville QB Lamar Jackson entering the draft as per news reports. The field of potential QBs grows. I still want Baker Mayfield.
