How 'bout them Metsies? 10-1 to start the season, best start in franchise history.
Both catchers hurt - man, signing Lucroy over the offseason could have been the move to make. Oh well, rumors have it the Mets are inquiring about JT Realmuto - maybe Jetes will cut the other NY team a sweetheart deal like he did for the Yanks.

Great season so far, but last night's loss was brutal. An awful lot of good was undone by the bullpen in one nightmarish inning.
4 hits by Cabrera, two manufactured runs by Lagares, couple of RBI base hits by Frazier, dominant outing by deGrom, all for naught after that 8th inning meltdown. Its only April, but tonight is probably as big a game as you could play this early. It would be a great sign if they can bounce back and get back in the win column tonight.

yeah, but that 8th inning...
About as brutal of an april loss as you can possibly get. Could have been up 7 games on the nationals right now.

April 17th and with like a 5 game lead and the nationals already have this choke artist of a franchise by the balls. It's a fucking wrap. I'm fucking cursed in every sport. They'll finish up the sweep tomorrow.

Nice comeback win last night though. Avoided the sweep. As much as the pen and pitching in general sucked the last couple nights, the offense shows some resiliency most nights.

Deferred income as part of a contract he signed back in 1999, A 36 year contract?? As i understand it, Bonilla signed a one year deal with the Mets in 1999 but did not begin to receive payment until 2011, when he began receiving $1.1MM per year for 25 years. I may have the details wrong, but its something like that. Different from the Isles DP deal which was a 15 year contract. This was one year with deferred payment.

Why did the Mets pay DeGromme so early?
