That’s right. We have no real weapons. No O line. Defense needs to be rebuilt. And our war chest(cap space) doesn’t really build up until 2019.
Therefore,in order to prevent Sammy from turning into Sanchez (Ptsd after being hit by Ngata in Thursday night football), let the boy sit and play bridgewater. If Mr. Glass plays well, we can unload him for a good pick. If not, I welcome another high round pick next year. And then spend that cap space on an online and offensive weapons.
I know some of you old timers (and those of you on your death beds for various other reasons) don’t want to be patient, but let’s do it right this time. Let’s not ruin our franchise qb in year 1.

What's the last franchise QB to sit a year and then became elite? Aaron rogers? I expect Sam to start AT LEAST half the season. He has tools and his most experience will come in games. Our OLine was improved this free agency and we added to weapons we already underrated had last season. Don't overthink it. Carson Wentz even started day 1. If Sam shows he can start, start him. Day 1 or week 7. When he's ready, he ready. The real patience will need to come from the fans. When he throws a pick, how about not going Giancarlo Stanton on him by booing so much.

Fuck that. You sit 2nd and 3rd round project type guys not consensus #1 overall franchise QB prospects. If he’s good enough get him in there.

When he's ready, he's ready. No need to rush him, but no need to coddle him either.

Fuck that. If he’s ready, he should play.
I expect them to start Mccown until they feel comfortable with him. Prolly by week 6 à la Goff.

First of all, if you think we are the eagles ex Wentz, you’re nuts.
Second, I agree playing the last 3-4 games would be useful. But if we are 1-5, that mean we sucks and it’s probably not just the qb’s fault. So why get him killed. . And if we are 5-1, he’s not going in.

You need not worry. Macs gonna fix the o-line with a combination of camp cuts and guys off the street. Just sit back and watch Macs "magic"!

Josh Mccown has never started more than 13 games in a season in his career. 15 seasons. He is going to be 39 years old at the start of the season. Darnold will play.
