I really hope Mariota and Hundley decide to attend the Senior Bowl. Are they letting juniors play this year? Ooops! I hope the facts don't get in his way. It's called the Senior Bowl for a reason although this is a dinosaur term since the draft accepted underclassmen over a decade ago. This event is almost useless. Why are we only evaluating seniors? And beyond that, if I'm an agent for one of these guys, he's not getting anywhere near Mobile. Why open up the chance for injury and end your season as this tends to happen every year to some poor kid with dreams of his payday after working so hard to get to this point. Meanwhile, underclassmen are simply preparing for the combine and have a competitive edge without risk to injury through 5 days of long and physical practices and scrimmages leading up to a game. While some of these guys shine in the Senior Bowl, their status doesn't seem to elevate much from it. It seems that prospects run greater risk of dropping out of sight if they don't show well. Anyway, that's been my observation. And I think they ought to just pull the plug on this thing. More than half of the best prospects aren't coming anyway.

Sources: #Oregon CB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu suffered what is believed to be a serious knee injury in practice yesterday. Concern it's a torn ACL. If I'm an agent, I'd also take my client out of the bowl games. This is tragic. And the pro bowl? Someone is going to lose their free agent payday one of these years from that meaningless game. Just saying.

The senior bowl and more importantly the practices are more important than the combine for most of these players especially lineman and small school prospects. There is nothing better than seeing the lineman go one on one against top competition, and the small schoolers finally answering some question marks by playing against some of the best players in the country. Does it hurt some players stock......you bet, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I just didn't think Ifo deserved his own thread, and seeing he's was invited to play in the Senior Bowl I put it here. If anything the Senior Bowl could have really helped Ifo. If he played well against some of the best WRs maybe people would see him as more than just a nickel back.

Just recently Fisher, Martin, and Bitonio shows how important the whole senior bowl week is. Hell if Geno accepted and played well he might not even be a Jet today.....or with our luck we grab him at 13 overall.

Looks like Hundley declined his Senior Bowl invite. Bad move IMO for Hundley to skip out on this.

A guy like Hundley should want every opportunity to play in front of scouts to show that he is worthy of an early round pick. I think they still have 1 QB slot open -- perhaps for Mariota.

Right now only Carden, Petty, Simms and Grayson are committed. Mariota hasn't made his decision yet. Maybe they extend Bridge an invite, or invite one of the Shrine Game QBs that perform really well, like they did with Garrapolo last year.

What a dummy. Hundley is shaping up to be this years tyler wilson.
Petty and Grayson should be fund to watch. Really looking forward to this one.

From reading the Shrine Game practice reports, it does not sound like any of the QBs are standing out. Sounds like Heinicke and Fajardo are having the best week of practice, but I am not sure either has stood out enough yet to get the last invite.

Usually you see one of these Senior Bowl QBs get a big bump in their draft stock as a result of playing well that week. Grayson could be that guy this year.

Looks like Nick Marshall accepted the final QB spot for the Senior Bowl. Simms, Marshall and Grayson are the QBs on the South team and Petty, Mannion, and Carden are QBs of the North.

I know he accepted but I read they had 4QB's on one roster and only 2 on the other. Did they change it to even it out?

Yea they evened it out, had to put Simms and Marshall on the same team, they originally wanted to split them up.

Senior Bowl practice is one of my favorite times of the year.
