I used to go to the original Jersey Mike’s in Point Pleasant. That was really good. Blimpie’s was better than Subway but nothing special. Then again, Subway is basically disgusting.

Last time I had Subway, maybe four or five years ago, I was left with a wicked case of the scoots for about a week. Never again.

A Florida surgeon mistook a woman’s healthy kidney for a cancerous tumor — and inexplicably removed it during a routine back surgery, according to a report. Maureen Pacheco, then-51, checked into Wellington Regional Medical Center back in April 2016 to get the bones in her lower back fused in the wake of a car accident, The Palm Beach Post reported. During the operation, Dr. Ramon Vazquez spotted the organ — which he believed to be a tumor, declared an emergency and removed it, according to a lawsuit obtained by the paper that was settled in September. Pacheco never had a say in the matter, according to the lawsuit. “As you can imagine, when someone goes in for a back surgery, she would never expect to wake up and be told when she’s just waking up from anesthesia, that one of her kidneys has been unnecessarily removed,” Pacheco’s attorney, Donald J. Ward, told the paper. Florida’s Department of Health has since filed a complaint against Vasquez — saying he provided a “presumptive diagnosis of a gynecologic malignancy, lymphoma, and/or other metastatic disease.” Vazquez, who has served as chairman of surgery at Palm Beach Medical Center since January — and also has privileges at St. Mary’s and Good Samaritan medical centers, as well as Bethesda Memorial Hospital — could be required to a pay a fine, at best, or lose his medical license, at worst, according to the report. Prior to this complaint — and a malpractice claim filed by Pacheco, he had a clean disciplinary record, according to the report. “The case was settled on his behalf for a nominal amount due to the uncertainty of litigation and in no way did Dr. Vazquez admit liability by agreeing to this settlement,” Vazquez’s attorney Mark Mittelmark told the paper in an email. He does not carry malpractice insurance. The malpractice insurers for Pacheco’s primary surgeons — Dr. John Britt and Dr. Jeffrey Kugler, settled for $250,000 apiece, the outlet reported.

How does a medical doctor mistake a kidney for a tumor! Lol The Doc is a complete idiot. He could have taken a small piece and had a biopsy done. if it is cancer he then refers her to a specialist for treatment. An Ortho Doc is not the guy I want treating me for cancer. Ever. And I have cancer so I know about this shit.

So she got $500k to get her kidney removed , I think she settled low. I would like to read the settlement. I bet there are provisions for future treatment of the remaining kidney. At 51 it could fail and then she is screwed. But I agree. Way to low a settlement.

Hammered Florida Woman Steals a Live Lobster
Everyone’s been here: It’s a Saturday night, you’ve had three Mojitos too many, and next thing you know, you’re running down the street with a live crustacean in one hand. An intoxicated Florida woman found herself in this classic situation after a manager asked her to leave a St. Petersburg Red Lobster on Saturday for reportedly “causing a scene” and “disturbing other customers.” Feeling she had to make a bigger statement than just cursing her way out, she allegedly grabbed a live lobster straight out of the water tank and bolted. The police were called and found the woman, who denied knowing the lobster’s location. It is not yet known if she blamed PETA or if the lobster simply made a really strong case for its freedom.
Using a textbook “I was hammered” defense, according to the police report, she told the cops that she didn’t care or do anything wrong at the restaurant. Surprisingly, this defense did not work and the woman was booked for disorderly conduct. At the very least, give her credit for being bold enough to dunk her hand into a tank full of live lobsters.

The Joker is back — behind bars, that is. Lawrence "Hitman" Sullivan, a 30-year-old Florida man whose heavily tattooed face resembles that of Batman’s arch-nemesis, was busted in Pinellas County on Tuesday after a warrant was issued in Miami-Dade County for a concealed-carry firearms offense, WFLA reports. Hitman, of Gulfport, remained held without bail as of Thursday at the Pinellas County Jail, online records show. Hitman, who was arrested twice in an eight-day span last year, has seemingly added to his collection of facial tats, including an upside-down cross between his eyes. He also has tattoos of a sword, a marijuana leaf, the Grim Reaper, Freddy Krueger, Todd Bowles and — of course — the Joker, according to jail records. Hitty was arrested last year on charges of marijuana possession and one felony count of carrying a concealed firearm after witnesses called 911 to report a man with green hair and facial tattoos waving a handgun at drivers outside an apartment complex in West Kendall. It’s not immediately clear how those charges were ultimately resolved. Hitster's mother Ms. Flampers, meanwhile, has told CBS Miami that her son began decorating his face with ink as an expression of his artistic side. “He’s a good kid,” Flampers told the station in June 2017. “He has a lot of tattoos. But he’s a nice kid with some problems. He is mentally disabled and is handicapped.”
