Did you read the article? What is your question? We were all talking about the original topic. I don’t give a fuck what James Woods tweets or Foxnews has to say right now. Put it in another thread.

Im the furthest thing from a conspiracy guy, but a pro-Democrat group mailing out a flyer to drum up support for a third party who wont win, to siphon votes away from the Republican candidate? I can see it happening. There are all sorts of illegal and gray area mailing shenanigans going on. I can see both sides employing that tactic at that level. You boost the third party guy from 4% to 10%, thats 6% youre pulling away from your opponent.

Its pretty on topic, how third parties can manipulate, or in that case, be manipulated, to try to win elections.

See Cheech this is called evidence and corroborating sources. Sorry there aren't any anonymous sources quoted.

The independent voter is a myth. We like to refer to ourselves as independent because it sounds and feels good. At the end of the day, we overwhelmingly revert back towards our biases. Third party doesnt work in America. It only serves to play spoiler for one of the major parties. Could you imagine if we were like Europe? 3,4,5,6 parties. A president winning with 30-something percent of the vote? Approvals in the 20s? Only where you have proportional representation would you see 4, 5, 6 parties. Our winner take all structure limits things and always will, to two, or at extreme times, three parties. A lot would have to happen with campaign finance and the media in the modern era to see a third party have a major chance at making noise. They cant get to the debate stage or raise the same kind of money as the big two. Other than the Perot run, you have to go back to the Bull Moose party to find even a semi-viable third party, which ironically started because Taft veered more conservative, and Roosevelt took votes away from him, letting Wilson and the Democrats win. Which is most right-ward leaning folks concern is with a third party popping up that's somewhere between the Rs and Ds... pulling votes from the Rs and letting the Ds win.

I could see a personality like Bernie splitting the Democratic party and starting his own eventually. Not him unless he does it in 2020. Of course I don't see it doing anything but destroying the party they split from in the short term.

It’s shady and give some proof of the origin before people make assumptions.

This whole wave of the democratic socialist left could very well lead to that... enough morons voting for candidates like Ocasio-Cortez, and all of a sudden, the Ds could be the more centrist party, with an offshoot to the left. That would be pretty interesting to see.

It’s shady and give some proof of the origin before people make assumptions. But it doesnt... it clearly said: They're just saying groups supporting him have done the same thing in the past, and letting people make their own assumptions. Which mine is, where there's smoke, there's fire. Unless you think a Republican group sent the mailing, on behalf of the Libertarians, ripping the R candidate, so they could then blame the Ds? Thats a conspiracy theory for sure. The Libertarian already admitted he's only getting a few percent of the vote, why would he send a mailer, then deny it, then drop out and endorse the R?

No one knows how many were sent or honestly if any were or by whom. With dark money it’s anyones guess. James Woods tweets it out and now it’s fact.
