NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Jets have requested an interview with Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy.
Hiring an Andy Reid offensive coordinator has worked out pretty well the last couple years, so it is not surprising Bieniemy is getting a look, especially after Patrick Mahomes threw for 50 touchdowns this season. Sam Darnold showed promising flashes as a 21-year-old rookie, but the Jets need to make a good hire to ensure he takes the next step.

Great. Hire another coordinator to learn on the job.

Great. Hire another coordinator to learn on the job. I don’t buy that either of these guys are serious candidates. You’ll probably start to hear veteran names like McCarthy within the next day or two.

I wouldn’t mind Gase at all.
Hell, he was my #1 choice 4 years ago before we hired Bowles.
He did a pretty solid job in Miami considering what he had to work with. I don’t care if some of his players don’t like him. I want a coach who doesn’t take any shit. Fuck these nice guy, players coaches like Bowles that players walk all over.

Happy New Year everyone...
Just read on PFT Iowa State guy declined an interview. The NY media really needs to throttle back, hopefully not costing the Jets potential hires. Bowles was acdead man walking for a year.

I'm interested in Gase; for all those reasons. I just think "no nonsense" would be read as a reactionary move by the players. I think they have to get a real deal offensive guy that can handle rough exposure in the loco media.

I think they have to get a real deal offensive guy that can handle rough exposure in the loco media. Also a guy who won’t tolerate these fucking goofs constantly showing up late to meetings, or missing them entirely. That shit was a recurring theme throughout Bowles’ entire tenure, all the way till his final game yesterday (Trumaine Johnson). And what did Bowles do? Gave him the day off, as if that’s some sort of punishment. If you want to punish him, have him play each and every snap on defense and special teams. Remember about 7-8 years ago when Giants players were bitching about Coughlin’s “show up 15 minutes early or you’re considered late” policy? Well, he never backed down from it and they won the Super Bowl that year. Oh yeah, the players sure loved Bowles. But it sure as hell doesn’t seem like they respected him too much.
