"Imperfect people" also == criminals. Radio stations not playing Michael Jackson songs any longer. John Wayne's racist comments. The Founding Fathers owning slaves. Can you separate the people from the things they do/create? Its one thing to apply today's standards to people who lived 250 years ago, but Jackson? The guy was mega-talented, but the child abuse stuff is crazy. Blanket bans?  |

michael jackson is different from the founding fathers...who were the most liberal of thinkers during their time...you cannot super-impose todays morals or sensibilities 250 years ago...

all true but owning slaves even back was controversial. There were abolitionists in the 13 colonies.
the real question is: how do you decide who gets ostracized? Some say all of them; others say none; still others say case by case.....

It does make you think.
Im not a fan of banning much at all. If I don't like something, I wont watch/listen, walk away, etc. Let people decide for themselves. And if enough people change the station when an MJ song comes on, radio stations will eventually stop playing them.
