A bit of good news:
"Notre Dame’s structure is saved, French authorities announced Monday night, close to four hours after a massive blaze broke out at the top of the historic Gothic cathedral.
“We can consider that the structure of Notre Dame has been saved and preserved,” said Paris fire brigade chief Jean-Claude Gallet, according to Agence France-Presse.
The 850-year-old building’s two main towers are also in the clear, Gallet added.
“The fire has lowered in intensity. We can say that the structure is saved, notably the northern belfry,” said Deputy Interior Minister Laurent Nunez, according to Le Figaro."

picture taken from a drone...totally destroyed. Sad day ... Sorry, pal. Truly a terrible loss. Really sad. I can’t even make a joke about how far Frenchy is sitting from that TV.

I guess the investigation will say if the intervention was appropriate. Not sure you can compare the ND fire with yours. The roof is/was so high and wide and the structure completely made of wood...not sure anything could have been done. We’ll see.

Dukey, wasnt referring to the "intervention" ( the fire-fighting effort?) but rather the timing of the fire. I am suspicious by nature and remembered that just the day before Notre Dame burned we had a fire in a NYC cathedral as well. (Palm Sunday).
