Dukey, wasnt referring to the "intervention" ( the fire-fighting effort?) but rather the timing of the fire. I am suspicious by nature and remembered that just the day before Notre Dame burned we had a fire in a NYC cathedral as well. (Palm Sunday). ah...it seems very likely it started accidentally in the scaffolding’s inside. Immeasurable loss even if it’s totally renovated. yes but it could have just as easliy been terrorism...like these people have a red line?

time for a pole gun to your head, boom if you're wrong a: 'construction accident' b: hate crime go The most common time for construction accidents (by far), including fire, are during renovations. It can be a real shit show as far as what things are being used onsite. This seems too benign to be a hate crime. No one has taken responsibility and theres no "message". Gun to head, I vote accident. But with that said I have no fucking idea. I now prepare to take the bullet. Can I have a last meal?

It does happen all the time. (hence "Oops" being my first post in this thread). And agreed, the loss is immeasurable, no matter if they rebuild or not. On a selfish note, I'm p*ssed because I was looking forward to seeing it again. Last time there I was a fucking idiot 20 something who had no appreciation or frame of reference for what I was seeing. (yeah I know I'm still a fucking idiot).

actually, a spokesgroup for ISIS did release a statement saying it was punishment for polytheism, so for those that took the Islamofascist bet, your horse (camel?) is still alive in this race!
