Jets fans who wanted an OL over QW are dumb. No OL prospect comes close to QW's skills and upside. However you are not dumb for wanting more OL in general. And now that Gase is temporarily / permanently in charge, it's a slam dunk bet that the OL will at the very least be given a little more attention before the start of the season. There are still serviceable FA's out there to bring in as OL competition. I wouldn't rule out another trade either. The avenue by which they acquire another OL might depend on who they hire. If Peyton is a guy who actually will have decision making power, his connections around the league will sway the decision. If it's Douglass, his connections will sway it in his way. If the NFLN guy, his will too. It was always clear that Mac didn't have great connections around the league. I mean, how do you only get 2 teams on the phone for the #3 pick? How do you not at least talk to the Giants about trading for #2 in the Darnold trade? Seemed to be disconnected from actual people in the NFL. All things considered I still think this was a successful off-season in terms of talent acquisition... It was just an off-season that never should have happened because the drafts should have been better. So ultimately this is a great move and the timing doesn't matter. Macs greatest accomplishments here are Sheldon trade Darnold trade Osemele trade Great moves with great value and net gains. But literally everything else was terrible, with the exception of this off-season's big money contracts which can all be off the books rather quickly if the players don't work out. If Darnold is as good as we hope, we will have the next three off-season's to build around him with cheap talent before his big contract will be due. We are set up to win now AND win later, so long as the next GM drafts well for the next three years. Lets not forget drafting Jamal Adams/Leonard Williams, the trade for Brandon Marshall, signing James Carpenter, and signing UDFA Robby Anderson. I am not by no means defending Mac, because he basically neglected arguably two of the most important positions other than QB (Pass Rusher and O-line). But if the Jets have a successful year, it will be Mac getting a lot of credit for it.

All that I am hoping for is that the Jets have this signed and sealed with Douglas and they can move forward with the announcement. This will all die away quickly.

I think they are lukewarm with Allen right now. There is some evidence that he might not be able to handle bigger stronger tackles on the edge. I also do not want another DT, as good as Williams is we are just repeating what we did a few years ago with Leo. I am officially on the Jonah Williams bandwagon, either draft him or trade down. Would love a senario where we take Jonah and Jakai Pollitte falls to us in the 3rd.

Agreed. Even though I would like to see them draft a RB in the middle rounds, it does make sense that the Jets might be finally going all in on the OL.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Darrell Henderson if he is there in the 3rd.

Although, say you trade down to #15, and Hockenson, Garrett Bradbury, and some combination of Jonah Williams / Andre Dillard / Cody Ford etc. are all sitting there, can you justify taking the TE over a top Center or Left Tackle, when OL is arguably a bigger need than TE, since we already have Herndon? At this point you have to go with Williams or Bradbury. Offensive line is needs a huge upgrade, need to protect Sam and give Lev Bell some holes to run through. Hypothetically speaking if that trade with the skins goes down, they should get their 1st, 2nd and 3rd along with a 1st next year. This is a deep draft for TEs not so much for lineman and if we can get the best of the crop we should. YOu can get a guy like Irv Smith with one of the 3rd round picks who I think will be a steal wherever he goes.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports the Redskins are "very much intrigued" by Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins.
The Jets at No. 3 overall are reportedly open for business and would be more than willing to trade out of that spot after landing Sam Darnold last year. The Redskins are said to be one of the prime candidates to come up should Kyler Murray and Nick Bosa go Nos. 1 and 2 in the draft. Washington's quarterback situation is bleak with Case Keenum and Colt McCoy on year-by-year deals and Alex Smith (leg) unlikely to play again. The Skins would seemingly have to leap the Raiders and Giants at Nos. 4 and 6 overall for a chance at Haskins.
Looks like the Jets might get a big haul here if true. There will still be some decent pass rushers on the board @ 15 or even in the 2nd round should they sign Houston and go with Tackle at 15.

Think I would take a flier with Shaquille Barrett he is a very good player that was productive backing up Bradley Chubb. Give him more playing time and he can be a huge bargain.

The Jets are nowhere near the Rams or the Eagles. Not even close. Rams and Eagles have playoff talent rosters. I don’t know who Albert breer is, but apparently he’s a fucking idiot. Maybe related to Maccagnan. Stop! Mac is italian

I would love to have flowers but he wanted to go where there was a familiar coach. I’m sure we were in on it. Barr would be an excellent get.
