Giants acquired DT Leonard Williams from the Jets for a 2020 third-round pick and 2021 fifth-round pick. The Jets are reportedly paying $4 million of Williams' remaining $6 million salary this season. Their 2021 fifth-round selection also becomes a fourth-rounder if the 25-year-old, who finishes his Jets tenure with 17 sacks across 71 games, signs an extension before the start of the new league year. It's a steep (and ill-advised) price to pay for a 2-6 team already stacked with a young core at that position. The No. 6 overall pick in the 2015 draft, Williams (surprisingly) joins a crowded d-line that includes first-round rookie Dexter Lawrence, second year third-rounder B.J. Hill and 2017 second-rounder Dalvin Tomlinson. The Giants are still reportedly shopping CB Janoris Jenkins and DL Alec Ogletree.

What a waste of a pick. Best player in the draft my ass. Couldn’t even get a 2nd for that California loafer. Lata Leo. Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

And to think his last sack as a Jet was negated by a penalty

he New York Daily News' Manish Mehta reports the Jets have "no plans" to trade DT Leonard Williams. Williams' name was floated as a possible trade candidate by ESPN's Rich Cimini, but the Jets are quickly shutting that speculation down. According to Mehta, New York "wants Williams to be a part of its future and is amenable to signing him to a contract extension this year." Williams is due $14.2 million in the final year of his rookie deal.

Looks like the JETS can't swallow a $14MIL torta; even one with Herm's Secret Sauce.
I approve this svelte and sexy move
