I wonder if the idea of that Domenick guy coming in was nixed? What will Mike Mike Mike do about getting help with contract negotiation.

How do you pronounce his name? In the video the interviewer says Muh-KAG-nin. (unfortunately rhymes with cro-magnon)

I wish it was pronounced either like that or like Mick-Cannon. Way easier.

If you want to build a sustainable winner in this league, you better build through the draft. If you want to build through the draft, you better have an eye for talent. I hear nothing but good things about our new hire. Long time respected scout, diligent, hard worker, not necessarily out-going, but it doesn't matter. This man clearly sold Ron Wolf a well drawn out plan to turn this franchise around. The bit about him ensuring that he is able to build a world class scouting dept has me sold. It's one of our deep rooted issues IMHO.
Happy about the hire! Great job for once Woody!

seems like a fantastic hire for the Jets. Exactly what they needed, not some been counter, but a GM with strong scouting abilities and the beat writers are saying he's one of the best in the league. The fact that Bowels is meeting Woody, Casserly, Wolf, and Maccagnan for dinner tonight is icing on the cake. Not to mention Bowels rearranged his schedule to meet with The Jets first instead of the Falcons giving me the indication he wants the job. I like Quinn and would do back flips if he inevitably becomes the next head coach but I respect Bowels just as much. Bowels is highly respected, been coaching a long time, and worked under numerous great HCs. If your Woody you don't let Bowels leave. A Maccagnan/Bowels leadership would be a fantastic ending to this search. I'm not sure who Bowels would bring here as his staff as oc/dc but the fact that Schwartz hasn't gotten much attention gives hope he might come here to lead the defense. I'd love to see him here with this defense. I think Mehta said chan Gailey would be considered as OC but I'd hope we'd look to bring someone else in. ^^^^ Nice post I am very hopeful. A football guy instead of a Lurch looking wannabe. Get some personnel in there and get Woody out of there.

We went from an introverted accountant with no eye for talent to an introverted personnel guy who seems to be a great talent evaluator. That's a huge improvement. We're already used to a soft spoken guy who doesn't really say much in Idzik. Now we have one who actually knows the difference between football and foosball.

@jeffdarlington ยท 53m 53 minutes ago Ultimately, Jets proved ready to support Maccagnan, known in league circles as a true grinder and respected as a cerebral, hard worker. Probably my favorite tweet!

Lol! He may also be the stapler guy in that they fired him years ago, but an accounting error keeps him getting paid. Mike Maccagnan: Yeah, we can't actually find a record of him being a current employee here. Mike Maccagnan: I looked into it more deeply and I found that apparently what happened is that he was laid off five years ago and no one ever told him about it; but through some kind of glitch in the payroll department, he still gets a paycheck. Mike Maccagnan: So we just went ahead and fixed the glitch. Woody Johnson: Great. So, uh, Bradway has been let go? Mike Maccagnan: Well, just a second there, professor. We, uh, we fixed the *glitch*. So he won't be receiving a paycheck anymore, so it'll just work itself out naturally. Mike Maccagnan: We always like to avoid confrontation, whenever possible. Problem is solved from your end.
