The Jets have canceled their head-coaching interview with Panthers DC Sean McDermott. This could be taken as a sign the Jets and Cardinals DC Todd Bowles have agreed to terms on a contract to make Bowles the next head coach for Gang Green.

If its Bowles he is a solid choice. He has done some solid things in Arizona and hopefully will continue that in NY

Would have no problems with Bowles, if true.
Quinn, Bowles and Marrone have been my Top 3 candidates from the get-go.

Great! We hired a defense coach, with no head coaching experience, in an offense of Lee focus league. To make this hire even better, we hired a defense minded coach who has three of the top quarterbacks in the league right now to replace Rex who only wanted dbs... Not in love with the move.

Miami Dolphins[edit]
Bowles was hired by the Miami Dolphins as the team's secondary coach and assistant head coach on January 23, 2008. After nearly four seasons as the secondary coach and assistant head coach, he was named the interim head coach on December 12, 2011, following the firing of head coach Tony Sparano. Bowles' first game as interim head coach of the Dolphins came on December 18, on the road against the Buffalo Bills. The Dolphins won the game 30-23. The Dolphins finished 2–1 under Bowles in 2011
Its a great hire the guy did a lot with the cards defense and they were missing players. this guy is highly underrated should have been give a chance with the Dolphins.

Great, I stand corrected and completely take back what I said. He has the invaluable experience of being a 2-1 head coach. Here's my problem with the hire: 1 - He is a defensive minded coach in an offensive league. Our biggest problem has been Offense - how does this move make it better? 2 - He has very, very, very limited head coaching experience and that wasn't complete (He didn't select his coaching staff, he wasn't leveraged to recruit free agents, and he was most likely given a free pass by the media since he stepped into a tough transitional situation). 3- Az has a bend, but don't break defense, which didn't allow a lot of point against, but he has 2-studs at DB (Peterson and Cro) and that is what Rex was asking for all along. 4 - The ability to "do a lot with missing players" is as much about depth (GM Moves) as it is about coaching. Its NOT Kotie all over again, but this feels very much like a no-drama Herman Edwards type of move. A NFL lifer who came up on the defensive side of the ball and is a first-time HC (for all intents and purposes).
