fuck him...keep him her 6 yrs...the prime years... In theory, great, but he is an emotional and proud guy. Will probably backfire. I think they have to extend him and pay. I'm fine with it. I attribute alot of his antics to immaturity and I can forgive that.

He's probably already in talks with Revis

Proud/arrogant/immature?
Maybe all those things and it feels like a mixed bag with him. Just part of the package.
The guy seems to do a whole lotta things right. On the field I want him there everytime. Seems to treat his fans/youth fantastically from what I see.
Does he play hardball when it comes to his financial well being? Absolutely...just like his play on the field. Shouldn't be a surprise now that I think about it. He's got a short window to make alotta money. They're always 1 bad injury from losing that opportunity.
Yeah, I don't entirely like the twitter stuff but that's just the way it is today. I'd rather have that than doing PT in his driveway with cameras rolling and going full spectacle.

Douglas laying down the law. I like his play on the field but has absolutely 0 loyalty to the Jets. Its a business, exercise the option, franchise him, if he acts up, trade him. It gets a little tiring $9.8M on the 5th year option and a franchise of $12M isn't enough money, especially when lots of people are going through tough times right now. I get that everyone has their own skill set and wants to be make as much as they can. Going forward, I believe most, if not all Jet fans would like him on the team, and paid a fair salary. That being said, I don't think it will play well with Adams making around $10M+ in each of the next two years, while most of the American public are being kicked in the teeth by the Chinese Wuhan Virus. My advice to him, say and do the right things, bargain in good faith with the Jets and when he choses to retire, he will be set for life and revered by all Jet fans, not despised like Mevis.

I haven't seen anywhere that Adams has commented on the Jets exercising the 5th year option. He may not be happy but that's the smart move on his part. Keep discussions and comments internal with the Jets, don't air it in the media. So I'm guessing he isn't happy but at least it isn't turning into a shit show of dissention. On the flip side $9.8M isn't a bad chunk of change.

I think that's the main reason he's keeping *HIS* yapper shut.
He knows how pathetic he would look in the face of people dying from this Pandemic and others out of work because of it, while he complains about MILLION-DOLLAR CONTRACTS.
