On the surface people are scratching their head about this possible hire. But it makes sense if you look into it more.
The 3 years Ryan Fitzpatrick was the QB of the Bills with Gailey running the offense he averaged per year:
3638 Yards 24 TDs 60% Comp 18 Int.
Now we all know Geno has much more natural talent than Fitzpatrick and so I think he can bring the best out of Geno like he did Fitzpatrick. I think it's all but certain we try to keep Harvin by restructuring his deal. Gailey's offense is predicated on getting guys into open space, a lot of quick throws. It is a spread/shotgun offense, very similar to what Geno ran in college. That's a good thing for Geno. Also one thing to keep an eye on is CJ Spiller. Under Gailey he had a career high in yards per rush (6.0), yards (1244), TD's (6), receptions (43) and receiving yards (459). The following year Marrone came in and it's been down hill from there. He is a perfect fit in Gailey's offense and he's a free agent. He would compliment Ivory nice and CJ2K would be released I'm sure.
I think it's a great hire if they're trying to get the most out of Geno and develop him. And one thing we know is that Gailey is not getting another head coaching job so Geno could have stability for years to come if he starts becoming more successful.
