I need this spelled out in smaller words. The conflict of interest being that the Jets would have a coach in Quinn whose agent used to be the GM of the team he's coaching on? Since Mike T. is no longer his agent why is it a conflict of interest? And aren't they the confident ones thinking with all those other teams wooing him they'd nab him? Of course they're the ones that court new coaches without firing the old one first. It's weird how Rex and now Bowles are the only two announcements and the rest all seem to be stuck in some weird limbo. What are they waiting for? Has Chicago even interviewed anyone? That is pretty strange Well, we fucked up atl plan by snagging Bowls and not letting him even visit atl. Now they are all gonna hope for Quinn. And Tannenbum will likely pull another snake in the grass signature blockbuster move.

That Mr T is a slippery mofo. There was a video up on espn that mort said this was a major concern for the Jets. Seems like a huge conflict of interest. Sure that's why we passed, but this is something to keep an eye on no doubt. I need this spelled out in smaller words. They say it's not supposed to but business can always turn personal when someone gets fired and has an agenda. Who knows what he told Quinn about the of the Jets and Woody, good or bad. From a negotiation standpoint Mr. T's been an inside man he knows ,if what, when, how woody would crack at a certain price or agreement.Plus since Quinn can't be hired until after their eliminated from playoffs you need a good faith wink/wink agreement. Even if he doesn't work for the agency anymore he still has ties to that agency. Now Oak and San Fran filled, Chi and fox are a fit. Only two place left for Quinn .the Jets removed themselves from getting the short end of the stick.
Sorry for the double post phones buggin

if quinn winds up in miami, then cass/wolf figured it out, kudos to them. Not quite sure how it would be good that we hired a coach because the FO didn't feel like they had the ability to get the guy they really wanted... If this is true then either Quinn was lying about the Jets being his first choice or Tannenbaum is a better closer. I'd rather believe that Bowles was the first choice and neither of those scenarios is true.

Quinn will be the next Atlanta Falcons Head Coach Me Thinks... although It wouldn't surprise me for Tranny to pull this off..

i wonder if fox leaving denver was the thing that tipped it to bowles. with denver, sf, atl and chi needing coaches, you have to wonder if wolf and casserly didn't want to hope that quinn chose the jets, b/c if he didn't the jets would be looking at a different tier of candidates. I think too much is being made of media speculation, sure, I don't doubt the Jets liked Quinn, and maybe didn't want to wait, but is like to think Bowels was also a top target, and they decided he would be the guy, regardless of Quinn's status.

I think the Jets might have been his first choice, but Rex going to Buffalo and not Atlanta, Tanny going to Miami and Fox leaving Denver changed the rules of the game. Because we couldn't lock in Quinn until possibly after the SB, the risk of us not getting him or Bowles increased somewhat. I think the old Woody's ego waits for Quinn and gets burned. I think the new Woody, counseled by the two elder football statesmen, makes the smart move by going with the sure thing.

Mike always had that slippery, used car salesman vibe about him. Sneaky little motherfucker. Fuck you Tanny...Fuck you Rex...and Fuck you Bill. This Jets team is on to something good. It might not happen overnight, but its happening. Don't forget : Fuck you BradwayHow surprised would you be if that turd ended up in Miami?

You all know why everyone else is in limbo? Because they're all still recovering from their shock and jaws dropping through the floor that the New York Jets FINALLY did something RIGHT!

I think jets liked both and could have gone either way. The crazy thing is AZ was 9-1 if they didn't have a QB problem they should have had a playoff bye and won the home game. Imagine if we were still waiting on both?
