Mike always had that slippery, used car salesman vibe about him. Sneaky little motherfucker. Fuck you Tanny...Fuck you Rex...and Fuck you Bill. This Jets team is on to something good. It might not happen overnight, but its happening. Don't forget : Fuck you BradwayHow surprised would you be if that turd ended up in Miami? I'm all in on sending our unsuccessful rejects to other teams, including those in the AFC East. Nothing is guaranteed, but I would expect all of these knuckleheads to do what they do best: fuck up their respective teams over the long haul.

Thought I read that Philbin just got another extension? It would be highly unusual for him to get fired Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Philbin receive the extension after the hiring of Tanny?
The extension post Tanny is the only thing telling me that Quinn is not coming to Miami, but I have seen stranger things.

i wonder if fox leaving denver was the thing that tipped it to bowles. with denver, sf, atl and chi needing coaches, you have to wonder if wolf and casserly didn't want to hope that quinn chose the jets, b/c if he didn't the jets would be looking at a different tier of candidates. I think too much is being made of media speculation, sure, I don't doubt the Jets liked Quinn, and maybe didn't want to wait, but is like to think Bowels was also a top target, and they decided he would be the guy, regardless of Quinn's status. It's been reported they liked Bowles a lot after their first meeting, along with Quinn their only 2 recalls. When they met with Bowels a 2nd time and decided he was their guy, had nothing to do with Quinn's availability.

^ Exactly, Jet Nut.
They were blown away so much by Bowles that they felt that Quinn wouldn't be able to top that interview.

Yeah, I think Quinn to ATL is a done deal. He basically has no other option if he wants to be a HC and ATL basically has no other option either. I thought they were hot for Josh McDaniels You're right. I think they need a strong defensive coach though. Unless they can pull of McDaniels and Scwhartz, I don't see how they pass on Quinn. Then again, I thought we'd go offensive coach so who knows.

Anyone else getting the feeling that Quinn may have overplayed his hand, and might now struggle to find a HC chair this year?
Seems to be like he was hoping to start a bidding war and keep several teams in the running for him until after the playoffs.
But, by not giving a clear indication of interest to any one team, he may be scaring suitors off as they don't want to risk waiting.
As it looks now, Atlanta may be the only option left for him. If they wait that long - they seem genuinely interested in Austin from the Lions and could hire him without the long wait.

And few seem willing to do that. When the SB is over McDaniels might be heading to Atlanta. Maybe Rex wasn't such an idiot to take an offer that was on the table.
