Georgetown coach has died.
Interesting tidbit. He was bumped off flight that flew into Pentagon.

As a St Johns fan as a lad, hated Georgetown and JT, but the guy was a Big East legend.

They in fact, should have won more. That was IMO the best college team I had ever seen. I was in NYC at the time and would go to Big East games at the Garden when Mullins was there. Great basketball. |

Its a tragedy how great Big East basketball was, and what its become. too many whites guys huh? Football, or lack thereof, killed the Big East. The ACC drove the nail in the coffin. And ESPN... forgetting who helped put them on the map in the early days, lowballing the Big East on a TV contract. Lou, John Thompson, Rollie Massamino, Jim Boeheim, PJ Carlissimo, Jim Calhoun. The 80s Big East was a whos who of great coaches. |
