Darnold still has same potential as all the draft QBs after Lawrence. What’s the point.
The Point is DDNYjets apparently speaks for ALL OF US and that "Jets fans have seen enough of Sam Darnold". Haven't you heard??

See if you can trade #2 or just take Sewell at 2 and have both sides of the Oline dominant for 10 years and then go with an interior lineman with the Seahawks pick.
Having two Monsters on both sides on the O-Line will enable our Running Backs to have success this team has never had before running the ball.
It also will help keep Sam...(yes, SAM!) upright and time for him to throw the ball.

Appreciate the optimism on Trask and I'm not mocking your suggestion. However, if the unthinkable happens and Lawrence goes to the jags, keep Darnold, fire Gase. Get Darnold coached up properly and draft nothing, and I mean nothing, but offensive players in the draft. The Jets already have Morgan as their diamond in the rough project. If history proves anything, you cant F around drafting a QB, recent examples are Geno Smith, Tebow and bringing in free agents like Michael the dog killer Vick, Fitz and all the other reaches the Jets have tried. Darnold can run this team and have success if he doesn't have to carry the load on his own. Surround him with quality players and watch things change. There's no question if the Jets get the #1 get Lawrence and don't look back.
I think some here are too attached to the potential Price-Tag in regards to Sam.
Personally, I don't give a fuck because :
1.) it's not my money
2.) it's not YOUR money ("Your" meaning every Jets fan here and out there)
and
3.) As you stated, the Jets already have a Project QB (Morgan) so let's Stick with Darnold, get him a New Head Coach and some more weapons to see if Gase alone was *the* cause of his regression(which I'm sure it is).

MIA nobody knows we don't know the extent of the damage caused by Gase think Jetswould be smart to bring in Trask and if both become decent QBs you have trade bait but if Darnold can't be fixed what do you do in 3 years after this team is built think its smart to trade back pick up more picks rebuild the OL take Trask who will be available later on Eagles did it look how well it worked for them
You can't draft another Project QB when the Jets already have one.

This guy 100% right about Darnold you keep him what if it turns into Mark Sanchez situation you end up extending him. Think you have to get somthing without reaching .
If you gave Darnold the same Weapons that Mark had, I think he would've fared just a smidge better. Just a hunch.

Is there a chance we replace Darnold with someone worse than him? Sure. There was a chance we would replace Bowles with someone worse too. And we did. Doesnt mean firing him wasnt the right decision. We've seen Darnold for 3 years. Thats enough for me. And that doesnt mean he cant go somewhere else and get better. It just means I dont think its happening here. How many times do you need to see this movie?

vin, I dont give a shit if the Johnsons set their money on fire and then shove the ashes up their assholes. But there is a salary cap that we are not allowed to go over. Thats the only reason why I consider the money when forming my opinion on whether or not to move on from Darnold. I wish there wasnt a cap, but there is.

No love for BYU Zach Wilson? Only caught this guy a little but seems like he could be a steal. You'll get to watch him tomorrow in his bowl game. I only saw one of his games and he wasn't all that impressive, at least IMO, but we're only talking one game so I haven't formed an opinion. He's getting a ton of hype right now and many say he has overtaken Fields as QB2 in this draft. Truth is there is lots of QB's generating hype so far. Obviously Lawrence, but you also have Fields, Lance (whom I know nothing about), Wilson, Trask, and Jones from Bama. Most are knocking Trask and Jones for a weak arm, which is somewhat deserved but I think overblown, at least when it comes to Trask. The one guy I'm throwing out there that nobody is talking about is Ehlinger and he's considered a mid rounder. He's a tough mofo that can run but also beat you with his arm and plays smart ball. I've watched a bunch of his games over the last few years and I'd burn a pick on him......worst case scenario you're looking at a backup that can win games when called upon, best case scenario is you just drafted a winner. Four year starter at UT with terrific numbers over his career.

Cinninnati will swap with us for the oline monster. there are good outcomes True. We can move back a slot, get a little cheddar and still draft who we want if JD is hellbent on a QB. It's going to be a long 4 months.

A QB shouldn't be considered a project going into his fourth season, regardless of Gase. Gase fucking sucks but that doesn't explain how shitty Darnold has been. He's a bottom of the barrel QB and has been his entire career...it doesn't matter if he was highly rated coming out. Highly drafted QB's bust all of the time and we drafted yet another one. Darnold will never amount to shit no matter who is coaching him and whatever team he lands on. Book it.

I know this is a highlight video and I hate them but you can see some arm strength from Ehlinger.
