If he gonna draft a QB, then before the draft. Otherwise darnold trade value lower after drafting a QB. Playing Devils Advocate, if you trade Darnold before the draft, you're pretty much showing your cards that you are going QB with the pick. That might affect you trading down? Not that it matters if you stay at 2 and pick a QB. I just think if thats the scenario, that QB has to be the real deal.
Exactly.
And while I will also say that I'm not QB expert, I will say that it doesn't seem like either Fields nor Wilson are going to be "the real deal" either.

Wanting to and believing are two different things. No way were we going 0-16. Gase is gone next Monday. Book it. To save his job he had to win some games a long the way as well. He has admitted he failed Sam and the Johnsons. He is history, with 2 years at 4M each to boot. I will coach for 2 years for half that amount. I wouldn't be shocked if Gase is brought back.
If he is, it's NFL Redzone for me until this Googley-eyed piece of shit is canned.

^^^^ dude wearing knee braces on both knees already? Any durability concerns drafting this guy then? ^^^^ dude wearing knee braces on both knees already? Any durability concerns drafting this guy then? I'll be honest that always makes me feel uneasy It sounds attractive to trade down for more picks and everything.....BUT with a monster like Sewell there for the taking, I would strongly consider staying put and selecting him. As far as the Knee Braces go : I did a search on Penei and saw that the only injury he suffered was an ankle injury back in 2018.
So these Knee Braces are something ALL O-Linemen wear.
We probably can't see them 'cause they're tucked underneath their pants-uniform.

He’s coming back, with darnold. Book it. Fact. a win on Sunday leads to this exactly- “won last three games vs tough opponents, really came together. Beat tough nemesis patriots. Almost 4 out of 5 with that tough raider loss. We had tons of injuries and COVID. We’ll be healthy next year and trending up. Because of this, Adam Gase will remain Jets HC. He’s a genius” -One of the dickhead Johnson’s, on or about Jan 4, 2021.

Also, drafting OL at 2 is a smart cap move. Don’t have to pay them nearly the amount you’d have to pay a QB or WR or RB at 2. It’s the smart move.

After Lawrence, when are the next QBs projected to go? If Sewell is the real deal, pick him at 2, and then use Seattle pick (probably 29-32 OA), and move up a few spots to take one of then QBs? Or use Seattle pick on WR or RB, and pick up a veteran QB in free agency, and see what QBs come out next year.
Doesn’t hurt to build Oline now for future QB. Like Jets should have done year before darnold draft. Instead the fucking dopes took 2 safeties.

Actually they all get paid the same regardless of position because of the draft slotting that happened about 10 years ago. Positions have no bearing when it comes to rookie contracts.

LT is also a premium position so even before the slotted contracts they used to command some serious bucks. The benefit of taking a player in the first round is the 5th year option you get. Which is why you sometimes see teams trade back into the bottom of the first to grab a QB.

Agreed 100%....I'm only pointing out you could take an ILB 2nd overall and the rookie contract would cost exactly the same if you took a QB.

After that you have guys like Lance, Jones, and Trask that have a chance to go in the first. My guess is we see 5 of them go in the first round.....hell we had three last year go in the Top 6 and I think the prospects this year should have higher grades.
