We all know this. And we're still wondering if he's gone insane?

We all know this. And we're still wondering if he's gone insane? Hmmmmmm... kinda sounds like the Jets are “starting to earn a little respect”, wouldn’t you say?

I'm not a fan of bringing on a player who whines his way out of a franchise. I respected Jamal Adams talent but hated his attitude. I don't know a lot about Watson and have not followed his efforts to get out of Houston. However, coupled with the high price the Jets would pay for him as far as draft picks and bringing in a whiner into what appears to be a situation where the new HC Salah will be working to improve the culture and attitude of the team doesn't sound like a good idea. On another note, If the Jets are dumping Darnold, I say go with Wilson, the BYU QB and start from the ground up.

Is he whining a bit...maybe. But I would not be happy either. He has to feel like he was lied to. I would still take him for our 2nd and Darnold. But certainly no more.

Mort now reporting that Watson wants out of Houston regardless of who the next HC is.

Some ex QB jag was on the fan about an hour ago. Was saying the minimum required to get Watson is 4 firsts. Minimum. No way would Houston let him walk for less.
And no way would Houston let him walk for #2 OA and Darnold. Practically every other team in the league could beat that and then some. So get that shit idea out of your heads.
Fucking idiots.
I bet you get a free bowl of soup with that hat
Oh but it looks good on you

Admittedly I had not been following his situation but I am not a fan of giving a bunch of pick for him. The 2nd overall and Darnold sounds more reasonable but not the 2nd, 27th and a 2022 1st.

my guess is 3 1's and a couple of mid-rounders gets it done. no big deal.
yes, houston has zero leverage. but you're bidding against miami, who has a comparable package to offer, so you have to factor in the premium
#2 is certainly a premium. the question is, which 2 of the other 3 do you include?
50/50 shot (at least, i say more like 60/40) that 2 is a QB no matter what (jets or texans) so really you're saying "wilson/fields, plus 2 firsts and some mids, for watson." its steep, but i think it is worth it. you pay a premium for certainty.
texans in cap hell. maybe taking a couple of bad contracts off their books lowers the price.
people say giving up those 3 picks make it impossible to build, but there are 7 rounds in a draft and we've seen JD accumulate picks. the draft exists to find players like watson. i say do it.

"Practically every other team" does not have a still-young and still-salvageable QB to offer with it in Darnold.
I mean...it's not like the Texans give up draft picks in addition to Watson so this, imo, is the most attractive offer.

I'm not sure they trade Watson for THEIR OWN pick (3) back. That would be insane laughingstock. You almost need to take less from jets so that ALL THE EGGS ain't all over the face.

So all theyd have to offer is their first this year (whatever spot) and a second this year. Or another first next year. Throw in whatever current QB they have. that beats darnold and #2 OA, hand down, no question. so if Watson is that good, and if you think #2 and darnold get Watson, you’re on crack.
