The Texans "could" tell him to go fly a kite and fine him and force him to retire if they wanted to. He's under contract. Im just waiting for all the NE plants in Houston to rig this up for Belidick to send them a 6th rounder for Watson. It's a weird situation. He can refuse trades but Texans dont want to let him go for cheap. I think a bunch of teams are in on this. I do think the price with be high. The good thing is we hold the most leverage. Multiple high picks including #2 over all (imagine if we had #1?), young QB to trade, cap space, and his first choice as a destination. The only question is what are we WILLING to give vs what are other teams willing to give?

Agreed and he has played at a high level and doesn't have the injury history of Stafford.

A few other things to consider tho - Houston may prefer Tua (still a relatively unknown) to Darnold in a potential trade. Also, Watson may wake up and realize that FLA is a no tax state while NY/NJ will tax him to death, literally costing him millions. Not to mention that NY/NJ is a frozen hellhole while South Florida (Miami/Ft. Lauderdale) is a warm tropical paradise. Oh well, Mayb Watson wants to hang with his friend James Harden. Who knows.

Latest rumor has a full HALF the league is talking to Texans. Meaning there's teams who we think are set at QB, who aren't.
I think it's gonna to cost a boatload. And this is a rare case where it may be worth it.
Question is does the drive up cost of other available QBs?

This is basically the NFL's Wayne Gretzky trade. Only QB is even more valuable.

The Chiefs, Chargers, Bills, Ravens, Jags and Bengals are probably the only teams not making the call. Packers and Bucs too but those are incredibly unique situations. And the Chiefs are the only one that would look bad if they made the call.

I'm seeing Williams' name floated and not a fan of losing him. If you have the choose between 3 firsts + Williams OR 4 firsts, what do you prefer?
I think I prefer 4 firsts

Still baffled how badly you have to fuck things up to get to this point with your star.

I think I prefer 4 firsts There is only one scenario I think we cannot let happen and that is he ends up in our division. So whatever it costs to either get him or make sure he isnt in the division I am in favor of. The only way it gets to 4 firsts for us is if teams start adding All-Pro players that are on rookie contracts to their offers.
