Might be awhile before Watson gets moved. You have a few free agent QBs in Prescott and Newton and the Eagles, Rams and Lions are listening to offers. I don't know if the Texans GM would make a deal early and risk having someone get a better package for a worse QB. Texans fans are pissed as hell right now. Imagine if the Rams, Eagles or Lions got more for their QB. They'd burn the stadium down. Carson Palmer went for 2 #1s when the Raiders traded for him. Stafford and Goff will both be in that range. But not all #1 picks are the same and before the draft when there is certainty for where the picks will be the price will be "cheaper". So if they are traded before the draft my guess is neither will fetch 2 #1s. Our #2 overall is worth more than anything any other team can give outside of a player in a trade. No way Stafford goes for 2 #1s.

Who knows what the 49's are gonna do too. Skins and Panthers need QBs too.

They are predicting the Stafford deal goes forward with a team prior to the Super Bowl. Detroit is being cagey about the teams showing interest. If the deal was right I'd think about it, too bad he's not 5 years younger. I know I've been going back with the hope Darnold can evolve and not be the turnover machine he has been and make better on field decisions. I always remember when Vinny Testaverde came to the jets he made the little publicized comment, he never knew how to watch video of opposing defenses until he came to the Jets under Parcells and Charlie Weis. I think the problem of QB's thinking they are doing it right and underachieving is more widespread than people think. When you have a guy who is smart, can make all the throws, a good leader but is lacking in a few basic fundamentals, his ceiling is reached and you get a mediocre QB. A QB who, at times, dazzles you with a great play, then makes you throw a beer bottle through your TV later in the game.

Remember, Stafford would be going to a very good team who has 1st round picks late in the round. I would be very surprised if he went for less than two 1sts.

houston just driving price up by saying 'zero interest'...sadly i don't think J.D. pulls it off... I don’t think Houston is trying to drive up the price to be honest. I don’t think they have any interest in trading him. Not saying they won’t be forced into it but I think they do everything in their power to try and keep him. Teams are willing to pay an exorbitant price for a young, franchise quarterback. They have one. Why would they want to get rid of him?

Taking on Goff’s contract is punishing. He has $43.325 million in fully-guaranteed payments due in 2021 and 2022.

Just saw that too. Whatta terrible trade for the Rams. MacFucko must be their new GM. Idiots. I disagree. The Rams just got out of a dogshit contract. Goff sucks and they owed him a shitload of guaranteed money. Plus the Rams think they can actually win now with Stafford. That said, I don’t love the trade for either side.

I think it works for both sides. Lions basically paid 43mil for 2 1st round picks and the Rams upgraded at the position that was holding them back.

I agree that it works for both sides. But I also don’t love the deal for either side. By that, I mean that I think I could bitch about the deal no matter which side I was on. That said, I can also see the short term advantages fir the Rams & the long term for the Lions.
