Casserly on Mac:
Not worried about who he has around him as I would be with an Idzik type. Mac is a scout by nature - he knows players. Everyone around him obviously will have a say but the guy knows his players.

Everyone around him obviously will have a say but the guy knows his players. Also, I'm gonna go ahead and assume this guy has a particular skill that Mac likes and wants. I have no reason to question him really at this point. I already think he's much more qualified than idzik

This one is a slight surprise to me. Rod Graves came from Arizona, although I don't know much about his relationship with Todd Bowles. Is the timing of this that Brady and others were terminated first, and then a couple days later Graves was let go? If so, there may have been an evaluation of some sort and discussions to figure out if Graves was a fit. Pure speculation on my part, although one thing is perfectly clear....this a complete reboot of the Jets front office, apparently no one will be left alive once Maccagnan gets through there.

This is what happens when you have a GM with a personnel background. He isnt afraid to hire his own scouts. Only reason why Bradway lasted that long was bc we had glorified accountants as GMs. This is 100% accurate. Bradway wasn't horrible. It's easy to trash someone on his way out but Bradway simply wasn't very good. He was kept around as a crutch for guys with little personnel background (Tanny, Idzik). They leaned on him and needed him because they had little clue.

Brian 'Dinger is the son of the late Mike. The DeFilippo thing is very interesting. He's seen as a rising star, and has interviewed for the OC opening in Cleveland. If we can land him, it would give us a good in-house potential successor for Gailey after a few years. The Jets had someone on staff who is now seen as a rising star? ........

I think Graves was overseeing the football operations while the GM search was going on ,maybe he was knee-deep in a few things that's why took a few extra days but who knows maybe they did evaluate him.

He and Idzik had some history at the Cardinals, and he was hired by Idzik, so there was no way he'd survive this regime change. He was Arizona's GM for a long time and they had a terrible record under him. When the purge came, they were desperate to have someone around until the new one took over, to make important football moves like signing Matt Simms to a futures contract.
