My 2 sons are calling me boomer because I refuse to agree with their predictions of playoffs this year. I sincerely hope they are right but unlike mutual funds, Jet fans can say past performance is an indicator of future returns. I’ve waited years for the Jets to be a professional organization and at least be a mid level team. Trying to reason with my boys to temper expectations has only resulted in them nearly convincing me they are right. So here on the first day of summer I feel my optimism growing and I am just waiting for the other shoe to fall. Knowing the Jets, somebody will get monkey pox week 2 and spread it to the team and 4-13 looms. Sorry for the mini rant!

I tend to be extremely optimistic every year during free agency and the draft. I let my mind run wild with visions of the playoffs. At leaat I get some enjoyment out of this sorry ass franchise until the regular seaaon crushes me.

At leaat I get some enjoyment out of this sorry ass franchise until the regular seaaon crushes me. I'm not always optimistic. Depends on the trust I have in the FO/staff..etc. I have to admit it's been a while I haven't felt this confident about the franchise. I'm not saying we're winning 9 or 10 games this year, but I genuinely think we're setting ourselves up to be contenders for a while. Even if Zach blows, you could plug any vet and win immediately.

Hence my past desire for the team to move to Nome and the fact that I go by JetREPULSION on this board . However, I am very optimistic about this regime, the playmakers we brought in, the incredible draft they just had (quite possibly the best draft ever for the jets and up there from the standpoint of any franchise that I can recall), and I think this season the team is going to be fun, exciting, in games, surprise some teams, and win a decent amount of games (anywhere between 8-12 wins). I think we have all just been beaten down so bad the last decade with the absolute unwatchable, unprofessional, disgusting dreck this team has been - from idzik, MacFucko, Bowles and the Googley eyed cunt, that we forget this team has had some good runs in the past. Hopefully this is the beginning of a long successful run that culminates in a championship or 6. Looking forward to a fun year that we haven’t had in way too long.

Probably? 🤣🤣🤣 😂 I consider myself a realist. I’ve been following the team long enough (since 1981) to be able to see when we should have genuine hope or when the team is mired in slop with a GM/ FO that doesn’t know it’s ass from it’s elbo and overrated over payed over the hill FAs who stink and r just here for a paycheck. I was optimistic during the Kenny O/ sack exchange years, the parcells years, under Herm when they made the playoffs 3 out of 5 years, as well as the early Rex years. Those teams would make a run and then rip your heart out at the end. The horrible Kotite years, and the last decade under bowles and Gase, are different. Those are the laughingstock not even in it by the end of September seasons. They are more funny than heartbreaking. Not sure which is worse (the yank your heart out years may be more painful, honestly). But it’s been long enough that I’m willing to take a chance on a change.
