It was windy, the receivers dropped passes, the O line was not reliable, and the Jets had Wilson not playing his game. The result, a loss against Mumbles and the Cheats. Played those Bassards toe to toe until the end. I'm pretty pissed but let's wait until next week to hang Zach. Plus defense was awesome boner pants

What are the odds? Better get a tent on this clownshow. FFS! Honestly i dont care much about what he says to press. Theyll make shit up no matter what he says. So, fuck those guys. So long as hes not throwing his team mates under the bus I dont care. Really trying to not give up on Zach. Trying to convince myself that it still growing pains and a bad game is part of the peaks and valleys. But the body of work and questionable progression. Damn. Hard to look past it. I agree, but after possibly one of the worst games a QB could have, while your D plays lights out and keeps a team to 3 points, your answer to the question "DO you feel you let the defense down", the answer is obviously yes. And if you think the defense doesn't care what he said, you're wrong. They know we could go to the playoffs with an average QB. Absolutely. When a defense gives up 3 points, that’s an NFL win 99% of the time. So it can’t be anything but a let-down to somehow end up on the 1% side of things. And it’s not like they had chances and missed. Getting 2 yards of O in the second half is basically like an offensive forfeit. Terrible.

Also Fields was taken out on a cart yesterday when he hurt his shoulder. Could be playing against Trevor Siemian. I wasn't aware of that. I don't wish injury on anyone and hope he's not seriously injured. However, if he has to sit for a week to heal against the Jets that certainly helps the Jets. It also may be the best for him and the Bears facing a pretty tough Jets defense which had 6 sacks yesterday. i said weeks ago...i hope he gets hurt...not bad..just enough to get him out of the lineup...because salah and jd bet on this kid and won't stop playing him until something happens...he's injury prone so theres that...

I can play off the "no" answer as him not wanting to give the media an inch. But complaining about the weather and saying the other guys did throw deep and he gets upset at his receivers too is just tone deaf and frankly low IQ.
I cant believe we are going to be arguing about Jimmy G or David Carr in the offseason. Our young/cheap/talented contending roster is being wasted bc we have a QB who simply cant play at a top 20 level. Seriously. Anything other than league-worst play and we have 2 more wins this year. Top 20 play would make us a contender. The bar is so fucking low and he still cant step over it.

Also, the block in the back on Justin Hardee #34 at the 10-yard line not called.

Also, the block in the back on Justin Hardee #34 at the 10-yard line not called. I'm still stuck on Sauce's punch-out strip on that fcking CATCH on the first NE series! We would've had the ball at the 2.

These losses hurt so much more than when we plain sucked. It's the expecting to win.... reasonably. Like NDB when my powerball doesn't hit, but getting beat at weekend poker stings the whole week.

Agreed. They are making him play scarred. That’s not his game. No one is talking about Davis - he’s been our number one WR and definitely Zach’s favorite target and he’s been out for weeks now. I think Garrett Wilson (who I love) and Moore are both undersized and Mims is a drop machine. Zach definitely played like hot garbage but he needs his security blanket back. Think back to the Steelers comeback and it was Davis who had that huge 4th down catch. He better be back next week: I agree. They made him tone it down and, in their defense, the Jets played the Cheaters to a draw. The game you saw Wilson play yesterday is not his game. However, he needs to find middle ground and not be retreating in the pocket and running around all the time. Not to bring up ancient history but Namath had similar struggles with interceptions, forcing throws which weren't there and figured it out. I am in no way comparing his abilities to Namath but I just can't bring myself to give up on him yet. I base this on how he played against Buffalo and one of the best defenses in the NFL. Also, while I hate to, you have to give Mumbles his due as well as his staff in drawing up the Cheaters game plan and the defensive schemes to frustrate the Jets. Also, while I have no proof, a leopard doesn't change his spots and it's entirely possible those bastards are still intercepting the headset signals and/or are picking up the play from the Jet's sidelines or booth. You just don't see a team get skunked like the Jets did in the 2nd half and blame it all on incompetence. On another note, I didn't know Justin Fields was injured yesterday and the Bear's defense isn't all that good. If Wilson lays another egg against the Bears, I will be less likely to defend him, but for now, I still have to. I'm in a similar place as you, maybe a bit further down the road on giving up on him. Like everyone has said so far, it's evident that he is not playing his game, even remotely. Whether or not they can figure out a way for him to do so is anyone's guess. I certainly hope they do because he has tons of talent, and despite yesterday's presser, seems to have a good attitude. But let's not kid ourselves; as soon as he's benched he's likely done for good.
