Thank you Lord and Jesus in my opinion. His dismissal added 40 points to last years point total. We squeaked out four more wins and are actually in the playoffs.
Okay well maybe not, but how you guys feeling about this?

OL coach needs to be next. He's a huge ingredient of this offensive mess

Honestly, I think the Offensive offense we had is more due to the worst Qb play in the league as well as one of the shittiest Oline performances. Between the lack of talent and injuries on the Oline the past few years, no one can expect a productive offense. Then we select a DII Qb with the second pick and he sucks balls. Getting rid of the OC does nothing for a young Qb. Look at Darnold and Sanchez. The fucking team just rinses and repeats the same shit every year or so. JD hit the jackpot on a few picks this year but his overall draft /FA records are not very good and his selection of ZW is a huge demerit against the few good grabs. IMHO anyway.

There were arguments to keep Lafleur as well as reasons to dump him. How many plays did we see guys flying wide open and either the QB didn't see it or was getting swamped? Anywhoo, now we need to attract a QB and an OC...with each waiting to see who the other is gonna be...

JD has done very well over all and has been our best GM in decades. Cutting bait with him would be the same rinse and repeat you are complaining about. His trades have been amazing and his drafts are improving. How is it that teams like the 49ers get good play out of their backup QB but ours doesn't? That is coaching and the fact that play calling was so predictable that my girlfriend could call the play before the snap means the D can too. GW said other teams caught on and we never made a change and the few times we were successful with something we never called it again. When you have 4 QBs that ALL have similar issues in an offense then you have to assume coaching and play calling are the common denominators.

When you have 4 QBs that ALL have similar issues in an offense then you have to assume coaching and play calling are the common denominators. Our talent is better than our schemes. The Jets are considered one of the more talented rosters in the league. Thats the GM. And that will save the GM. Now the obvious caveat is the QB position. We have swung and missed twice in the Top 3 in 5 years. That is brutal. That usually sentences a team to 5 to 10 years of purgatory. The fact that this team played meaningful games in December is a testament to our talent. The LaFleur system works. There is a reason why much of the league runs variations of it. But we saw no growth from LaFleur. No adaptation. No development of players under him. It was his system or the highway. Guys like Mims being gatekeeped bc they didnt know all 4 WR positions. Our promising 2nd year WR requesting a trade and LaFleur insisting on playing him on the outside. LaFleur might be a good play designer but he is not a teacher. And this team needed a teacher. That is an organizational failure. So I think its fair to say he was setup to fail. But we should have added a veteran coach after year 1. The "too many voices in the room" comment we keep hearing out of this regime is just proof they let their egos get in the way. Saleh better get this OC hire right bc his ass is next. Nice guy, and in fairness to him we have seen development and improvement of players on defense under him. But he runs a very vanilla scheme and the talent prevails. Talent goes to the GM.

Agreed with everything and found this a bit unfair. The jump in defense from last year to this year is not just talent. All the players were saying how guys now understood what they were supposed to be doing compared to last year where guys were lost, miscommunication etc. Having lockdown corners helps, but give him some props for basically going from last to top 5-10 in every statistical category.
