Feds had to finish what Cuomo started and then decided to stop once he realized any effort to seek out corruption in Albany would lead directly to the leadership. Only thing that would make this better is if Jim Dolan was involved.

Yep, that ugly c&xk sucking prick was all that stood between the west side retractable roof stadium. That corrupt f$cking slime ball. I hope he drops dead. Now we r stuck in Giants Stadium Part 2, the worst boringest stadium in the league. I hate him!!!!

Isn't the vacant space the WSS was destined for that Silver et al wanted to "protect" for vital low-cost housing (or something similar) still a vacant space?
Politics suck.

I think it was pretty much all on him that the WSS got squashed.

I think it was pretty much all on him that the WSS got squashed. It was. There is some obscure 3 person NY board that was the last hurdle before they could move forward with building the stadium. 2 votes for the stadium and 1 against - Sheldon cock sucking silver. It had to be unanimous and it wasn't. So we r stuck with the crap hole giants stadium 2 aka met death stadium instead of an awesome and awe inspiring master piece of architure and technology that they were so close to building. I believe our own stadium in manhattan would have done more to turn this franchise around than any coach or owner or gm. But we got screwed once again. NYC sux.

It's so true, when you see what's gone on in Manhattan, especially with the High Line (not sure if that would have been ko'ed by the stadium) a WSS would have been fantastic, just a great NYC Sunday on game days. Too bad we'll never know. Selfishly one good thing came of it, Bloomberg rezoned the area and we cashed in on a small RE holding in the area, but I think the stadium would have helped just as much.

It would have been so unique in the nfl too. A stadium in the middle of the city? And nyc no less? Omg. I don't think I'll ever get over it until they make it happen. But, we sign a 99 yr lease to play at met death in a toxic waste swamp? So ducking dumb. I HATE that stadium. So boring. All the charm of a municiiple parking lot. Feels like the port authority bus terminal. Dumb f&cks didn't even put a retractable roof on it. They would have been better off refurbishing the old stadium and putting a roof on it. Fuck that place.
