Bobby April is the big one 2x Special Teams coach of the year April is a huge upgrade. The guy is one of the best ST Coaches around. I wonder what we do about his son. Dont downplay the Kacy Rodgers signing. The guy is a tremendous coach and long overdue to become DC.

But the Bobby April addition came out of nowhere and is huge.

Interesting that Dorrell is coaching the WRs - I figured he would be the QB coach, although he has coached WRs in the past too. I wonder who Coach Bowles has his eye on to coach the QBs?

I think Dorrell is a really solid hire. Not only is he a seasoned WR coach in College and NFL, he's coached QBs in the NFL and called plays in college. Really can provide depth on the offensive staff and help see things from multiple angles.
Really like the way the staff is shaping up.

Bobby April is the big one 2x Special Teams coach of the year THIS!!!! Are ST has been so bad the last few years, after being good for so long. If we could get back to being a Top ten ST teams it would be huge.

Need to see how we shape up with QB and OLine coaches but as of now I'm very happy with the staff that's coming together.
I knew we'd pull together a great defensive staff simply given the number and quality of coaching connections that Bowles has on that side of the ball. It wasn't really in doubt. The ST hiring of April is very, very good thing for the Jets. We're really checked the boxes on 2 of the 3 phases of the game. Now it's about offense which has been our perennial challenge with this team.
I'm still in the "wait and see" camp on Chan Gailey. I'm hopeful and I'm happy we have a veteran, experienced guy there so I don't have any issues, but we really just need to see how this unfolds. The QB coach and OLine coach could give us some indications, even tiny ones, about what Chan is thinking for an offensive approach next season (ex. Run heavy, etc.)

@rlangejets 13m13 minutes ago Bobby April's returners have 21 TDs in his 23 seasons as coach, incl 5 by BUF in '04 when he got 1st of 2 NFL ST Coach of the Year awards.

For once, the Jets will not be a MASSIVE circus on and off the field. This is good stuff.

I think those are the only positions still open Any guesses? Those are likely Chan's decisions but I don't know who has worked for him before in those areas. Steve Marshall Asst OL Coach from the Packers is being talked about as new OL coach. The Pack @thepackapp ift.tt/1BRa0Ah Report: Jets To Hire Steve Marshall For OL Position #Packers
