Potentially you could have both the Jets and Giants replacing their Head Coaches and GMs. Will be interesting to see how this process goes down. Not really an ideal situation for the Jets to be competing with the Giants for these candidates. If San Fran trades the rights to Harbaugh to Oakland, you could have the 49ers, Giants and Bears all looking for HCs with the Jets.

Sounds about right. I just hope Woody can get it right for once.

In one of the rare times for me personally, both my favorite college and pro football teams will be getting new coaches...absolutely no chance both will hit on the right person for the job...oh joy.

Yep. Horrible football season. That Wisconsin game sealed Pelini's fate.

I have so little faith in Woody. he is in the class of Snyder and Blanc. Owners who go in the locker room, sidelines etc. Ridiculous.

^^ ha! i was expecting that.
in all fairness, i think Idzdick inherited a shitty situation. while the situation is far from fixed, i'd argue we have a better talent base than we did 2 years ago.
the problem this year has been coaching. the team has looked woefully unprepared for the most part, and the few games that they did show up with their heads in the game, have been lost due to poor play-calling and execution.
JMO.

Yeah, it kind of sucks. Competing with the Giants, Bears and 49ers is definitely not a good thing.
SOJ sucking at the wrong times.

Another reason why you press the reset button and start fresh IMO.... Im not one of those guys who fears competing against the Giants and the Niners because of who they are, but what coach worth a damn will come here with our GM on the hot seat?! Admit the mistake, blow it up, start completely fresh(and get it right this time)

call me crazy, but i don't think the Jets need a new GM. Next year will be Idzik's year to prove he's not the idiot so many people think he is. Most GMs come in and let the team shit the bed to show the last guy sucked real bad and put the pieces together of the new direction of the franchise. I get the sense that Idzik held onto Rex this year because he didn't have a better candidate available and knowing he wasn't going to have all the pieces on the team for 2014 it was easier to make Rex the fall guy, give Rex another year to solidify the defense and then plan out for 2015. Not spending the cap space, not drafting offensive weapons, etc. all indicated this year was going to be a throw away year. The telling issue will be what we do at QB. Geno was Idzik's guy and if Idzik holds onto Geno too tightly and keeps him around as a starter next year then it's probable 2015 also sucks and 2016 appears with a new GM.
