The fix is in big time, the NFL will slow play this for another few weeks, then come to the conclusion that there isn't any concrete evidence to suggest a deliberate intention to cheat, Kraft will get his apology and no penalties will be handed down. Unless some other owners come out and want to make an issue of this, Goodell will just sweep this away and it's all business as usual. Disagree. If the fix was in, the NFL would have immediately slapped the Pats with a $25k fine saying they are responsible for anything that happened to the balls after the refs approved them, and noted that ball inflation is a minor infraction as shown by the level of fin in the rules. By way of comparison, bumping a Ref is $20k and wearing the wrong socks is $5k. The fact that they have an independent investigator and are letting this play out makes me think that the fix is not in.

By way of comparison, bumping a Ref is $20k and wearing the wrong socks is $5k. The fact that they have an independent investigator and are letting this play out makes me think that the fix is not in. We've seen the independent investigator thing play out in the Ray Rice case and they came up with nothing, even though there were multiple reports that people with in the NFL saw the Rice tape. It's all just window dressing from Goodell to appear like he is actually being impartial. If they fined NE prior to the Super Bowl it would have officially called into question the integrity of the AFCCG and the NFL wanted no part of that. Nothing will come of this, it's all a dog and pony show.

Wow. The balls on this guy. He also works for the other 31 owners, and I bet every single one of them would like to see Kraft figuratively neutered. If I was Goodell and was asked about this, I would say, The NFL is still waiting for Mr. Kraft's apology for spygate. This cozy relationship these two have sickens me to death. I'm there's nothing Kraft wouldn't do to make sure his team gets every benefit possible as a result.

The strategy the pats and the NFL have adopted is clear. The pats are throwing out as many theories as possible to shift the focus away from how they should be punished to a confusing discussion of all the ways the balls could have become underinflated. The more confusing it seems the less likely people are to commit to a single theory or even feel like it's possible to figure it out. The NFL in turn will wait until the majority of people have been confused and/or bored by the topic and then the NFL can come back around and say it was inconclusive--which most people will agree with--but issue a fine slightly larger than the minimum so people feel like the NFL didn't admit the pats cheated but punished them because they could have. Then the whole thing blows over.
Kraft's comment about an apology rallies pats fans and gives the NFL an excuse to deliver a slight punishment. If the pats get a little punishment and no apology then it will look like the NFL split the baby and delivered a moderate punishment.
I'm not willing to go as far as to say the pats and NFL are working together on the PR aspect but they are sure playing the same strategy.

What does he want an apology for? His team played with footballs that weren't legal per the rules. They didn't accidentally lose air because the Colts had zero problems with their footballs. They can't claim climate issues either because the retesting was done in the same controlled environment that the first tests were done so it's not an issue of cold air pressure nonsense. They were then inflated to the proper standards, played for an entire second half, and then retested after the game and it showed that those footballs held their air pressure... after being tested again in the same controlled environment at half time and then reintroduced into a now COLDER environment of play and then held up to the conditions. The only logical explanation is that the balls were intentionally deflated after inspection. Thus, follow the guy that is in charge of the footballs. Video shows him going into a "camera free zone" for 90 seconds (that's a long piss) with the previously inspected balls.
What can we eliminate from the facts of the situation?
1. The elements did not cause air pressure to be released from the footballs. 2. The balls did not lose pressure due to the rigors of the game as they were played with in the 2nd half, in a then colder atmosphere than the 1st half, and maintained integrity. Thus, the Colts had no problems with their footballs.
Thus we can conclude that the air pressure was intentionally let out of the footballs. What we can not determine is who did it and under who's direction.
So, Kraft wants an apology for what exactly? His football team played with illegal footballs. Does he want an apology from the NFL for the investigation? What sense does that make? What makes sense is he wants the entire world to give them an apology for the perception that they have created in New England as a culture of cheaters. Sorry, the world doesn't work that way. You want an apology because your team played with illegal footballs and that is some how everyone else's fault? Get bent you fucking moron!

It just proves the fact that Kraft is an owner that has way too much power and a weak commissioner who just follows suit. Goodell needs to be removed immediately and another competent commissioner should be hired that will look into this with unbiased clarity.

The guy wants you to prove who did it and why they did it or else it doesn't matter that the footballs were deflated because you can't provide a motive or a suspect. You don't need motive or suspect in this case however, because your team played with footballs that were tampered with after inspection to bring them into an illegal zone per the rules. And it wasn't even close to being an accident. You can't ATTEMPT to blame the refs for not doing their job because you supplied the footballs to them in that condition. So you intended to cheat in hopes that it wouldn't be caught. However, the inspection did occur and those balls were approved. Refs aren't to blame.
The blame lies only with your head coach and your QB. They are in charge, as the rules have allowed, for the condition that the footballs are in. Once approved they may not be altered. Who did it or why doesn't matter because they are your responsibility so you are in the least guilty of neglect. And a gross abortion of the rules caused the integrity of an EXTREMELY IMPORTANT game to be called into question.
So once again, what exactly is Kraft demanding in terms of an apology? We are sorry that you played the football game with illegal footballs that you were responsible for ensuring were legal? They are guilty no matter what this report finds because the facts have already been determined. There was a testing of your footballs. They failed inspection. You were playing with those. Case closed. If they want an apology because people have called them cheaters and not the unfortunate victim of highly improbable circumstance then he's a bigger fucking moron than I initially thought. This shows COMPLETE DEFIANCE and a "YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME, DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!" attitude that happens when the petulant get caught with their pants down, or in this case their balls deflated. Go fuck yourself New England P@triots and all of your fans who are trying to piss on our heads and tell us it's raining. Suck the big dick of consequence that is your comeuppance for deception and cheating. The same team that a week earlier wagged their fingers in the faces of everyone else insinuating that they aren't smart enough to understand the rules that they were bending. Guess what, turns out you cheated there too you little shits. Year long ban for the coach, QB, and now the owner for their defiance and attempts to cover up the truth with lie upon lie in order to justify their cheating.

The NFL leaks/media reports have unfortunately made no distinction between "compliant", "non-compliant", "lost pressure but still compliant" and "lost pressure and non-compliant". This allows speculation (and pro or anti Patriots bias, as the case may be) to run rampant. It would be helpful if someone would leak the actual psi numbers of the various balls at the various points in time -- I won't hold my breath though. I gather from Kraft's statement that he wanted either a $25K fine last Monday or a leak-free investigation that would lead wherever it may lead. He wants the apology for the league-abetted dog and pony show that put Belidick and Brady in the spotlight this past week (if, in fact, those two are cleared of wrongdoing).

The NFL leaks/media reports have unfortunately made no distinction between "compliant", "non-compliant", "lost pressure but still compliant" and "lost pressure and non-compliant". This allows speculation (and pro or anti Deflatriots bias, as the case may be) to run rampant. It would be helpful if someone would leak the actual psi numbers of the various balls at the various points in time -- I won't hold my breath though. I gather from Kraft's statement that he wanted either a $25K fine last Monday or a leak-free investigation that would lead wherever it may lead. He wants the apology for the league-abetted dog and pony show that put Homeless Hoodie and SparklePony in the spotlight this past week (if, in fact, those two are cleared of wrongdoing). Those reports have been made, and the compliance has been reported. 11 or 12 footballs reporting at up to 2 lbs of pressure under the regulated amount of 12.5 which means they tested around 10.5 PSI. The only speculation that has occurred is who did it and under who's direction. Not whether they aren't guilty of wrong doing. They can sit there and point the finger at the low level guy who went rogue in the bathroom setting the air out of ONLY the Deflatriots balls. But do they expect we're all dumb enough to believe it? The QB likes his footballs at a 12.5 PSI in which he called "PERFECT". Yet he can't tell the difference in a +- of 2 lbs of PSI? He sure knew the .5 so well as to go out and state it. Not I like it around 12 pounds, he said he likes it exactly at 12 POINT 5. Meaning he knows even up to a tenth of a pound difference. He tried to feign ignorance like he's never even seen a football before let alone knew there was air inside it that could even be escaped from it which could even call into question whether or not the rules were violated. Sorry, I'd say that as dumb as people are... we're not that dumb. The ball boy was told to do what he did by the QB. You're an idiot or so blinded by your denial to force yourself to believe that this atmospheric wonderment (which isn't even scientifically possible) only affected the P@triots footballs and not the Colts. You'd also be dumb to believe that all the sudden that theory gets thrown out the window in the 2nd half when the balls were properly inflated in the exact same environment as initially tested and then sent out in HARSHER atmospheric conditions yet this time it didn't do anything to those same balls. What Kraft wants is for people to stop calling them cheaters unless they can show him video evidence of Tom and Bill giggling as the let the air out of their footballs. The NFL doesn't need to do that anyway. The NFL already proved they cheated by testing their footballs and those tests showed that the footballs in the first half of the game were altered by 2 lbs of pressure somewhere between the sign off and the start of the game... and they conveniently have video of the guy taking a "bathroom break" where there are no cameras... WITH the footballs. Who does that? Who believes that?
