for the NY Jets.
“As a player personnel analyst, he evaluated both pro and college players. His pro responsibilities included evaluating all players on nine NFL rosters, and on the college side he was the Rams’ Southwest area scout,” the Jets said.
Interesting hire, he is very young so we will see how it goes.

Has Scouted for Titans, Texans, and Past 3 Seasons for Rams
General manager Mike Maccagnan and the Jets have named Brian Heimerdinger the team's director of player personnel.
This season Heimerdinger was in his third season as a scout for the St. Louis Rams. As a player personnel analyst, he evaluated both pro and college players. His pro responsibilities included evaluating all players on nine NFL rosters, and on the college side he was the Rams' Southwest area scout.
Heimerdinger enters his sixth season in the NFL. Before the Rams, he served as a scouting intern with Houston when Maccagnan was in the Texans' scouting department, and he also worked with the Tennessee Titans.
Heimerdinger played wide receiver at Colorado State before finishing his collegiate career at Northern Colorado.

What does that mean on 9 NFL rosters? As in he covered 9 and some other staffers covered the other 22?

I hope this guy had something to do with the Rams' last few drafts. I absolutely love what they've been able to do in terms of moving up and down, and I love the type of talent they've been able to get.

I met Brian in 2011 at the combine. Really impressive young man (I say young man only because he is younger than me by about 1 year). I was told then by a scout in the NFL that he was going to be big time and that he was a wiz at evaluating young talent. He was working for the Rams at the time, but it seemed that everyone I talked to really respected the hell out of this guy. Take it for what its worth, could have been just a bunch of scouts praising the kid over drinks. It didn't seem that way to me though. We chatted football and draft prospects for about 5-10 minutes and he really seemed to know his stuff, plus STL has had some great drafts over the years. I love the hire.
