www.newyorkjets.com/news/article-9/Free-Agent-CB-Curtis-Brown-Signs-with-Jets/5897a726-24d5-4b64-a090-54e96e7fa0de"The Jets have signed free agent cornerback Curtis Brown. Brown, 26, first came into the NFL as the third-round choice (95th overall) out of Texas by Pittsburgh in 2011. The 6'0", 185-pounder played in 34 games (no starts) in his three seasons with the Steelers, showing a knack on special teams with 39 tackles, before tearing his left ACL in November 2013. He was released in March 2014. Brown's uncle is Hosea Taylor, the All-America DE from Houston who was an eighth-round pick by the Baltimore Colts in 1981 and played 20 games through 1983." Nice move Mac.

This reeks of an Idzik move....low risk player with an injury history. He's probably nothing more than roster depth......nothing to lose, nothing to see here.

You also have to remember that the Jets will bring 90 players to camp. So you look for players with some upside, bring them to camp and hope you hit on at least 1 of them. That's why a player like Brown gets signed.

Is this Maccagagananan's first actual acquisition of a free agent player? Maybe he was just testing out the "Acquire Player" button on his Xbox joystick?

And that Sean Hooey guy but idk if that counts - reserve contract if I remember correctly. I wouldn't look too much into this signing. Cheap depth. The fact that it's another 'player who showed promise and then got injured but now has a chance to bounce back' is kind of funny though - regardless of the staff that always seems to be our thing.
