Marshall is 31 and Andre Johnson is 31. I'd rather take Andre Johnson, if he's prepared to join the Jets, over Marshall.
To be honest, I don't think the Jets will look at either Marshall or Johnson.
Bowe isn't a no. 1 receiver and we already have a decent no. 2 in Decker. Even though Bowe was playing with noodle-arm Alex Smith the last few seasons, he isn't the type of player who could compensate for the shortcomings of his QB (ie., he's no AJ Green).
Bowe will want more than I think the Jets should pay him.

I'm sure he'd rather go to a contending team with a stable QB situation after what he's dealt with in Houston over the years. I wouldn't be totally opposed to Marshall, but the guy is a headcase...literally. He's worn out his welcome on 3 teams now.

My mistake. Thought Andre was 31 for some reason.
Wouldn't be surprised if Johnson actually ends up in the north-east. Could see him signing on a cut-price deal for the Cheatriots in the hope of getting a ring.

Whether it's getting Marshall keeping Harvin or getting anybody else. I still think we should be looking 2 draft a receiver in first two rounds. The number one stud receiver just simply doesn't become available anymore, it's like franchise quarterbacks they don't hit the open market, you need to develop from within in-house.

He's exactly where we need him ....in Jacksonville. actually where we really need him is in NE Bowe is interesting, Marshall I'm not so sure about but I'd take both definitely over Harvin.

I'm not interested in Bowe, a receiver never caught a TD pass for the chiefs last year. Marshall is a good player but he will be done in a few years the it's back to square one. If we end up with Foles or Mariota, we need to put a group around them that's here for the long haul. True, Marshall may only have about three good years left, but that is three years we would have a #1 WR, with Decker falling into his proper role of #2. We have Kerley in the slot, and we have some receivers on the team who can be #4 and #5. We can draft now a later round developmental receiver, and would not have to worry about drafting a receiver high for three more years, leaving our earlier draft picks this year to deal with a pass rusher, a guard, a QB, or a safety. We'll have more answers in about 4 days!!!!!

I think I was just as excited last year -- then free agency started and we got little to nothing accomplished. It just didn't turn out the way I expected. I am more optimistic this will be a more productive free agency season -- it can't be less productive, can it?

I always do the same, build myself up and then end up disappointed, same with the draft. Gotta believe it can't be as bad as last year.

Article in today's Chicago Tribune suggests the Bears might settle for a 5th rounder, but would cut Marshall if they cannot get a deal done. Puts the Jets in a unique position -- we can cut Harvin loose and keep our 4th and then trade a 5th for Marshall and save some money. From the Tribune article:
