yes i know what a tender is, but Harrison was undrafted and Jarrett was a 2nd round pick. so why does an original round tender on Jarrett net us only a 3rd round pick if/when he's signed? jets twitter suggests that that is the case simply because of Harrison's 2nd round tender. i suppose it's because, hypothetically, a team that were to sign both to an offer sheet wouldn't necessarily have two 2nd round picks.
also i was just hoping Harrison got a 1st round tender.

A first rounder for snacks is just unrealistic. Would love to keep Snacks but a second rounder would be nice too. And we can a draft a dt. or b sign a veteran in free agency say maybe Wilfork? Not the player he once was but also didn't have Wlikerson and Richardson playing next to him. Best case scenario we resign snacks. But I don't think would have a huge impact on the defense.

I like Snacks but almost nobody is signing him to a fairly large $ deal AND giving up a 2nd round draft pick for him. I just can't see it happening.
That said, IF someone signed him I'd probably let him walk, take the 2nd Round pick and use the $$$ to re-sign someone like Ellis or another higher end backup DT/NT. We've had guys like Canty and Lankford in to visit, correct?

Jets placed a second round tender on Snacks. By league rules, if a tender has been placed on another player that matches the original round grade for another tendered player, the other player gets a tender for the next round.

I thought Snacks would get the 1st round tender. He could be appealing to a team drafting late with the 2nd round tender.
If the Pats lose Revis, Belicheat could be tempted to go after Snacks just to piss us all off.
