Skrine is a great free agency signing. They are paying for a guy that has gotten better every year, but still has his best football ahead of him. This is a scout's free agent acquisition. We're not paying this guy for what he's done, we're paying him for what we think he'll become. This is how you are supposed to win in free agency. We're not chasing stats, that's a good thing. Agreed, same applies to Carpenter. Two guys with some upside just coming off their rookie deals. No doubt Mac still has his notes on them.

Now gotta wonder if he'll be the #2 or play the slot with Milliner/another FA/McDougle? at the 2...

Loved this signing when it happened, and love it even more now that we have Revis back. If we can get anything out of Milliners corpse we'll be in amazing shape. Also if Milliner develops into a solid #2 Skrine can play nickel easily.

He didn't do well at press man coverage as a CB, that's why the move to safety. Playing next to Weddle kind of forced him into a SS role which isn't perfect for him because he isn't a hard hitter. He is best suited as a FS and can play centerfield but also has enough coverage skills to line up on slot receivers and TEs. He would be a good compliment to Pryor.

Sounds like he can be a good, low cost fit for us (which we are going to need after today).
