Another unfortunate consequence of illegal immigration, and of such large numbers of Hispanics in general: soccer popularity increases, football declines. What are the other unfortunate consequences of such large numbers of Hispanics in general? You mean besides large numbers of Hispanics?

Trauma to the head is always goin to be a part of the game, you can't eradicate it unless you change the rules and dimensions of the game itself, and that's just ridiculous. If you sign up and play then it's at your own risk, rugby players get cauliflower ears, racing drivers can spin off or have collisions at any point, boxers or UFC fighters could be a cabbage with one punch, it just comes with the territory. The game will never have a shortage of people willing to fasten their chin strap and play, peolpe are motivated differently and see risk/reward differently. Changing the rules to accommodate peolpe like Borland is insane, it's his right to walk away, as fans we should not expect the game to change as a result IMO. This

Exactly. They used to have a "Jacked up!" segment. Now when someone wobbles off the field people gasp instead of laugh. That awareness alone will make a huge difference. Obviously the NFL is always going to be dangerous, but that's why they get paid like they do. The brain problems of old are obviously unacceptable and hopefully those days are already over. I'll always remember the blank look on Chrebets face on his last NFL catch after his head hit the ground. Kind of like when that monkey fuck Edelman had a clear and obvious severe concussion in the SB and they all pretended nothing happened, because NE would have absolutely lost.

What are the other unfortunate consequences of such large numbers of Hispanics in general? I'll tell you. They take up WAY too many parking spots in my neighborhood. I had to write a scathing letter and leave it on this bitches windshield. Never parked there again. What I don't understand is how people can be so inconsiderate of their neighbors. They aren't clueless... they know we have assigned parking here and I have the right to get someone's shit ass car towed the fuck out of my spot. I always make sure people don't just park in someone else's spot. And if they do I make sure that the neighbor wasn't expecting any company. Common courtesy. These hispanioles don't got it. So, Mexicans sound a lot like Bostonianites but with less broken windows, tire-slashings, shootings, and general terror, and better food?? Gimme the Hispanoles!

The only thing the NFL needs is a new commissioner and NFLPA President. That commissioner part can't come soon enough.

This is certainly a problem for the NFL. If star players start retiring early that will create long term problems finding franchise players and it's definitely going to affect how teams structure contracts for key players to ensure they either play out their contracts or give up huge chunks of cash. It's good to see more players think about their health and not treat the NFL like an endless cash cow. Maybe we will see more players making smarter financial moves with all that money. It's interesting how this has become a two way street. The NFL has never taken "contracts" seriously, players are disposable pieces that can be cut at any time. Interesting to see the shoe on the other foot. Does Borland owe the team anything?

Soccer is kick ass. I do get tired of those pussies rolling around like someone just ripped their dick off. Soccer is the anal cancer of sports.

Roger Goodell needs to go, if only for the fact that he's buddy-buddy with Kraft and gives the Flats* more unfair advantages than any other team in sports receives. How long as has it been since Deflate-Gate, and yet no ruling or punishment for Belidick and New England? Yet the Jets get hammered with a potential tampering charge? It's funny how NE can commit the most egregious cases of cheating and get away with it, all because that old fucking piece of shit Kraft has a greedy spinless commissioner in his back pocket. Goodell is the worst commisioner in the history of all professional sports. Bar none.
Oh yeah, and also the fact that Goodell is watering down the NFL. That too.

The Commish works for the owners. Under his leadership the NFL has made a gazillion billiondy dollars. They couldn't care less about balls or tampering. (BTW...how long has it been since tampering charges? Why has nothing been done!!!!!)

imo the solution has always been to get rid of all the armor these guys wear and limit the size of the players by position or team. this could work something like qb's are limited to 200 lbs, dline to 250 lbs, oline to 250 lbs and so on with the goal of limiting the total weight of the team on the field. it could also be limiting the total team field weight of maybe 2500 lbs or so. this would reduce the force of the hits and also reduce the severity of concussions. reducing the armor and padding also helps because players won't be so apt to throw themselves around so much if they hurt themselves. todays armor practically forces players to hit even harder since the armor absorbs so much of the force. so in a real sense the very thing that protects the players makes them more vulnerable. and helmets should have soft shells not hard ones.
i don't think the game will suffer because the players will be more fit. teams won't have the fat slobs or the guys who need to bulk up to match their opponents weight. the players will be healthier too.

I never heard of this stuff happening at this rate in decades prior. Is it a byproduct of players being stronger and faster than they were previously? I mean, players played the game with even less sophisicated poadding and protection than they do now, and I don't recall all these brain injuries, concussions, etc. Also, there was no research on it. They are even finding problems in athletes who stopped after college. Yes, "its part of the game", but I think with more and more studies being done and publicized, football will attract less and less players. be careful about the more studies aspect. more studies doesn't mean the incidence is higher or the concussions are worse. all it means is they are doing more studies. too much garbage coming out of the study world.

I just meant we never heard about this before because no one studied it. personally I don't need a study, one look at some of the players over 50 convinces me.
