The Jets will hold this summer's training camp at its state-of-the-art Atlantic Health Jets Training Center in Florham Park, NJ. The decision was made after careful consideration and with full recognition and appreciation of the team’s outstanding experience at SUNY Cortland. “SUNY Cortland felt like home because of the tremendous local support we received during our time there,” said Jets Owner Woody Johnson. “President Erik Bitterbaum and the university staff, as well as the families and businesses of Central New York, all went above and beyond to embrace our organization and create a comfortable environment for our team and fans. They always will be a part of our Jets family.” Preparing for the season at the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center offers the added benefit of locating camp closer to the team’s core fan base in the New York/North Jersey metropolitan area. “We are very grateful for the outstanding support of our fans in Cortland and to fans who made and enjoyed trips to the area,” said Jets President Neil Glat. “Our hope is that our training in Florham Park will allow additional fans to experience the fun and excitement of a Jets Training Camp this year.” The Jets had held five of their past six training camps at SUNY Cortland in Central New York. The return to the year-round training facility is consistent with the trend of a number of teams remaining at home for camp. Currently, 21 of the 32 teams conduct camp at their practice facility. 2015 New York Jets Training Camp is supported by EMC/SAP, JetBlue, MetLife, SNY, and Toyota. Practice dates and times will be announced as soon as they are determined. Jets App: Jets to Remain in Florham Park for 2015 Training Camp bit.ly/1GcVEuT

I get the whole "bonding" thing Rex liked, but I get a feeling Bowles and Mac mean business, no BS distractions, just getting their shit together in their own backyard.

Going to Cortland was supposed to limit distractions and BS as well by providing the team bonding experience. Probably just want to make a complete break from the previous regime culture. They should have gone to Long Island IMO

I'm glad about this for 2 reasons:
1) That huge complex with like 5 football fields seemed like such a huge waste to build it and not use it for camp.
2) Florham Park is like 20 minutes for me so I'm excited to go to my first open practice this summer

Back in the Hofstra days, my son and I would go to a few practices. We were there, for example, when Herm asked "Captain Jet" to take the practice field for a few minutes. FANTASTIC memories. Several times my son was in the mob of kids wanting autographs on items and most often was not able to get close enough. The final time, just as the players were streaming away, my son leaped toward the fence extending his Jets visor out in one hand and screamed with a commanding voice "SIGN THE HAT!" Jerald Sowell laughed, turned around, and signed the hat. Have a great time at practice this summer!

My daughters (I believe 10 and 7 at the time) and I we at practice at Florham Park in 2009 I think. It was a hot day in the sun and the girls finally got to autograph time. They are getting bumped by all of the fat, sweaty dweebs that don't know that the autograph sessions are for kids not for 40 year old basement dwellers that are looking to sell something on Ebay. So anyway, Sanchez and his handler are walking around having Mark sign autographs and my daughters are crushing on him big time. They keep yelling out, "Mark" holding out whatever they were trying to get signed. As he is walking away my 7 year old catches his eye and he walks over and hands her a nasty sweaty wrist band. It made her day. Of course now the 10 year old who is a bigger fan is jealous and I help negotiate shared custody of the nasty sweat band. Then my 10 year old trades the 7 year old a stuffed Hello Kitty for the other half of the time with the sweat band. I had to endure about a week of hearing how it was good that the sweat band was still a little sweaty a week later. Seems disgusting but then I think about how I would feel if Sofia Vergara were to toss me her damp .... Sorry different story for a different website. Anyway, the point is that camp is awesome, especially when bonding with your kids and I am looking forward to a couple nice days at Florham Park this preseason.

Good news/bad news for me. I work a half mile from the facility, so while I will get to see a lot of camp, the traffic on Park Ave will be miserable for a few weeks.
This makes sense though, you have a state of the art facility with amenities that you don't have by going to a temporary college site. Will be fun having all of those open practices within walking distance for me.

Even though I am sure that some families did go to Cortland, the distance of travel certainly must have diminished the rate at which such memories were forged for young fans. Welcome home Jets! Hampurites take your kids with you! No guarantee of a signed hat or sweaty visor...just guaranteed memories for a lifetime...

I know that the past couple years they had kids register online for Florham Park so they would get special access so keep your eyes out for that as well.
