Anybody know why the white football in the logo has the top scratched off? Always wanted to know this. So strange to not have the entire football...

I guess it might be just for memorabilia. But why they wouldn't use the full ball is still strange. And no not counterfeit stuff. Steiner sports, Upper Deck....

It's done that way for illustration purposes, most likely. If you look at illustrations of things, you'll notice that some details are often left out or altered. You often see bits that are cutaway if they're supposed to connect with other bits of detail. That's why, if you look at the 'NY' and the 'Jets' pieces, there's a bit of space that's been cutaway so that they're not actually connecting. It helps to outline things and separate them.
