I keep reading and hearing on NFLN who Rex is signing, drafting etc. Doesn't Buffalo have a GM? In the rush to draw off of Rex's name recognition why is he now coach and GM of the Bills? Just like he was the GM for the Jets during his entire tenure here

This is worse, he hasn't had a draft yet to influence. They're basically crediting him for FA pick ups and for trading for players.

The Bills fans actually think Tyrod Taylor is going to be the surprise QB who will lead them to the Super Bowl. Everyone keeps touting the Bills defense but they have a hole at SS and are weak at 1 CB position (McKelvin). They have no true NT to use in that defense either. Their LBers are slow (now that Alonso is gone) and can be taken advantage of by a TE like Amaro. On offense they have a LG in Incognito who hasn't played in 2 years and wasn't a great player the last time he played. He was above average. They have no starter worthy RG or RT at this point either. Instead of fixing their terrible O-Line they decided to pay a slightly above average TE $12 million per year over the next 2 years. That's a lot of money for a TE who averages 45 rec per year and that was with a better QB than they have on their roster. Their QB's are average at best but they seem to think 1 of them will all of a sudden turn into a star. I live in Western NY and they think they're winning 12 games this year easily. It makes me want to puke.

Rex Ryan was is and will always be an awful head coach. And he had to fucking go. Some of you still seem dazzled by 2 afc championship games that were LOST. Once again Lost. He WAS at best mediocre. And the last two years he turned into an asshole with that black sweater vest. He's an immature subpar traitorous asshole, and I'm glad he's gone

Hes like an overgrown child with way to much spontaneous emotion to ever be a successful coach. And you can see in the last 2 years here when he was told to act like a grown man and tone it the fuck down, how he dragged his feet around here moping like someone took away his burger king crown

This is classic! lol
The fastest QB in the league with great preseason tape? Oh man....what next, a Kicker who led the Combine in bench press and scored 9 goals playing soccer his senior year at Cal? He's the next Adam Vinatieri!

Same culprits every time, some need to go see a psychiatrist before they black out and find themselves in bushes in Rex's garden with their pants around their ankles. as much as it's nice to simply move on from rex there are still tons of other ways the whole scenario could have played out. if he was paired from the start with a real football gm instead of bean counters maybe he would've been able to be kept under control and focus on coaching. but that also assumes he was able to draft the players he wanted and so on. imo it was a mixture of both until idzik came along and chose not to field a competitive team. but now bowles is the coach and we need to see that he gets the support to succeed. Another data point to add to the fact that Rex simply was not a good coach - he was more interested in buddying up to the players than making them work hard and holding them accountable. None of us for sure, but my guess is that with Rex as coach, the Jets were the least hard working team in the league and the inmates were running the asylum.

Jets players are eager to say how no-nonsense new head coach Todd Bowles seems to be.
"He's a very stern guy, a very stern coach," quarterback Geno Smith said, per the team's website.
"Strong-minded, and to the team he speaks his mind," defensive end Sheldon Richardson told the team's website.
"We got to see him up in front of the team [Monday] morning," center Nick Mangold told reporters Monday. "He's got a great passion."
But tight end Jace Amaro, now entering his second season, was the first to draw a distinction between Bowles and Rex Ryan, who was fired after 2014 and is now the head man with the Bills.
In an interview with Sirius XM NFL Radio, Amaro didn't mention Ryan by name. But he didn't have to.
"He's not really playing around with everyone being late," Amaro said of Bowles. "We had an issue with that last year. Guys just weren't accountable last year as much as they could be. I think that's the biggest thing. [Bowles is] making sure everyone's gonna be 100 percent in or he's not going to be on the team."
Smith had missed a meeting because of some time-zone confusion on the night before the Jets got drilled by the Chargers last October. But by saying tardiness was "an issue," Amaro implied the problem wasn't just about that isolated incident involving Smith. Amaro also implied that compared to Ryan, Bowles won't be messing around.
