Wow that's not a great start! Haven't even started practicing but he's already injured.
At least he is in the building even if he can't do much for now

Marcus Gilchrist, a safety the Jets signed this offseason from the Chargers, will be limited during the team's offseason program this spring because of a shoulder injury, a source told NJ Advance Media on Tuesday.
Gilchrist is expected to be held out of all or most on-field workouts during next month's organized team activities and June's minicamp, but he ought to be a full-go when training camp begins in late July, the source added.
It's not clear exactly how or when Gilchrist injured the shoulder. He started all 16 games last season for the Chargers, but he had been listed on the Chargers' injury report with a shoulder injury a few times early in the 2014 season. It's also not clear whether Gilchrist's current shoulder trouble dates that far back, however.
Gilchrist has been in the building for the first two days of the Jets' voluntary offseason program, which began Monday. The source said Gilchrist's status was much like quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick's. Fitzpatrick, acquired last month in a trade with the Texans, is recovering from a broken leg sustained in December and isn't expected to be a full on-field participant until training camp.
The Jets acquired Gilchrist, a converted cornerback, to play free safety, which will allow Calvin Pryor, last year's first-round pick, to move to strong safety, a position Pryor for which Pryor feels he's much better suited.
It seems the Jets were aware of the shoulder issue when they signed Gilchrist. He can earn up to $5 million this season, but only $3.5 million of that is guaranteed. The remainder is made up of per-game roster bonuses totaling $1.5 million.
